2024 August Holidays & Themes for Your Wedding Ceremony

Getting Married in August? This list of August holidays and seasonal themes will inspire your wedding ceremony, in honor of Woman Astronomer Day, Lammas, National Lighthouse Day & more!

Savor the last of those long summer days and nights with a fun August wedding! August marks the end of the season, but it still brings the heat… They don’t call ‘em the dog days of summer for nothin’, after all.

This makes it the perfect time for a romantic wedding at sunset, followed by a long night of dancing and drinks as things cool down. Or consider a unique indoor ceremony at a favorite bookstore (National Book Lovers Day), planetarium (in honor of Woman Astronomers Day), ice cream shop (on National Ice Cream Sandwich Day), or any other creative wedding venue with good a/c and plenty of room for friends and family to gather.

There are so many exciting and surprising holidays in August – including nearly a dozen holidays on August 1st alone! These holidays are heartwarming, joyful, and sometimes offbeat, making them the perfect inspiration for your wedding decor, wardrobe, ceremony readings, or theme!

So grab a cold one (for International Beer Day) and say ‘I do’ to lasting love this August!
