This is an original wedding ceremony script written by experienced officiant and AMM Minister Erica Allen-Steward.
This sweet officiant script includes a warm welcome and invocation, a simple declaration of intent, heartfelt exchange of wedding vows and rings, and a unique ceremony to celebrate the blending of two families into one.
In this original unity ceremony, the couple's parents or chosen elders are invited to participate in the wedding by presenting the couple with a family heirloom (or heirlooms) as a wedding gift, to symbolize generational love, wisdom, and the family's continuing support in marriage.
Modify this script to include a gift given by the newlyweds to their children, as part of a blended family wedding ceremony. Or personalize the ceremony to include the participation of siblings, grandparents, and other important family members in the gift exchange.

Officiant to all present
We often think of a wedding as the union of just two people, but in reality, the entire family [two families] is being united.
To celebrate this broader union, [Partner A] and [Partner B]'s parents [elders] have chosen to present the newlyweds with a gift [necklace, bracelet, ring, etc] to symbolize their love and support.
[Names of Parents/ Elders], as your children have already made promises to each other, they will also be making promises to you, and to their own children to come, as you all have a share in this marriage. Your participation is necessary to develop the bonds of your new family.
Officiant to the couple's Parents / chosen Elders
Do you offer your wisdom and love to [Partner A] and [Partner B]? Do you promise to be supportive of their marriage, and to help them continue to grow together as a family? If so, respond, “We will.”
