Friends and family, gremlins, ghouls, and ghosts, and all of you lurking in the shadows… “I bid you welcome.” (2)

We’re here today to celebrate the love of (Partner A) and (Partner B), as they join together in marriage for all eternity.

Each of you have played an important role in (Partner A) and (Partner B’s) lives. You’ve been their confidants and their co-conspirators, you’ve witnessed their personal victories and shared in their adventures. You're all on the top of their ‘call in a crisis’ list, the people they know they can count on no matter what, whether it’s a zombie attack, an alien invasion, a demon possession, or a wedding... They love you and they’re so happy you’re here!

As most of you know, (Partner A) and (Partner B) share a love of all things spooky, suspenseful, and delightfully scary. They are both a little strange and unusual... (3) and they live life on the edge of their seats, facing whatever comes their way, fearlessly. 

Marriage might be one of the scariest plot twists of all, because it takes vulnerability, trust, and letting your partner really see you for who you are. There’s risk around every corner! But it also brings the biggest reward –  a lifelong partnership, true and lasting love, and a hell of a lot of fun. 

As a man someplace once said, “We all go a little mad sometimes.” (4) In the years to come, you’ll share in each other’s successes and failures, joys and sorrows, and the ups and downs of life. There might even be a little madness. 

You’ll be challenged, and strengthened, and there may be a few jump scares… The secret is sticking together, because everyone knows what happens if you wander off alone…

(Partner A) and (Partner B), your fearlessness in life and love will serve you well if you stick together.

So let’s get you married!

Declaration of Intent & Exchange of Vows 

• Personal written vows are optional – the ‘I do’ and consent to marry is all that’s necessary. Officiant to Partner A & Partner B

Do you, (Partner A) and (Partner B), promise to honor each other as (husband and wife / wife and wife / etc), to walk side by side and support each other from this day forward, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love, and to cherish each other, even if you both go a little mad sometimes? 

Partner A and Partner B

Officiant to Partner A

(Partner A), would you like to read the vows you’ve written for (Partner B)? 

Partner A to Partner B

(Partner B), “I have crossed oceans of time to find you.” I believe in destiny because of you, and I know that now that the “luckiest man who walks on this earth is the one who finds... true love.” I’ve found it in you. I promise to listen to you, to trust you, to respect you, to laugh with you, as your (wife / husband / spouse) and friend. “You are my love and my life always.” (5) 
 

Officiant to Partner B

(Partner B), please read your vows to (Partner A). 

Partner B to Partner A

(Partner A), “I don't want a world without love or grief or beauty. I'd rather die.” (6) I can’t imagine a world without you, without your love and our love. With all the work we’ve done to get here, so much we’ve learned about each other, I always knew you were the one for me. I promise to compromise, to trust you, to relax and have fun with you, and to be honest and honor you in everything I do – “Because you have bewitched me.” (7)

Exchange of Rings

Officiant to the Couple

You may now exchange the rings you’ve chosen as a symbol of these promises. Let these rings be a daily reminder of your love, your family, and life you’re building together.

WINE TOAST UNITY CEREMONY

Now, to seal this eternal and undead… I mean, undying bond… A toast. 

• The officiant turns and lifts up two glasses filled with red wine that resembles blood

(Partner A) and (Partner B), “this is very old wine… I hope you will like it.” I myself “never drink… wine,” but this one was blended especially for you. (2)

Drink deeply, “live deliciously,” feel it flow through your veins! (8) May your love live for centuries, everlasting. 

• The couple toasts and then sips the blood… err, wine.

Closing Words & Blessing

Officiant to the Couple

To paraphrase a translucent troublemaker: it’s a stroke of luck, you two meeting. Alone, there’s so little you can do. But with an accomplice, a thousand things are possible! (9) 

Or to put it simply… “Alone, bad. Friend, good!” (10)

May you always have a friend in each other. Someone to adventure with, to build a life with, and to play with forever, and ever, and ever. (11)

Pronouncement & Introduction of the Newlyweds

By the power vested in me by (Name of State) and American Marriage Ministries, I pronounce you married. 

You may kiss! The power of love compels you! (12)
