The days are getting longer, our calendars are overflowing with summer weddings, and we just restocked on sunscreen and pre-ceremony beach snacks. This can only mean one thing…. It’s time to roll out the annual AMM Officiant Yearbook!

Each year, we take a moment to acknowledge the AMM Ministers, staff, and other wedding vendors that contributed to the American Weddings blog over the past year. 

These experts have shared their time, knowledge, and personal experiences with us in order to help new wedding officiants grow their businesses, develop their officiating skills, and create meaningful ceremonies for the couples they marry.

In Memory of Dan Henkel 

 

Dan Henkel was a beloved husband, father, and friend. He served as a wedding officiant for more than 25 years and celebrated the love of hundreds of couples in his community in Indianapolis. Dan was also a talented guitarist, a gifted and funny writer, and was always ready with a smile or a kind word. He will be dearly missed.
 

Over the past year, Dan wrote five original wedding ceremony scripts for the AMM Script Library, including a tree planting ceremony, a Star Wars themed ceremony, a unity puzzle ceremony, a script for two co-officiants, and a script for when a parent is asked to officiate. These last two scripts were very special to Dan, who often co-officiated with his wife Beth, and had the happy opportunity to officiate his daughter's wedding several years ago.
