This Pirate Themed Wedding Ceremony Script Will Have You Saying ‘Aye!’ to Love

Pirate Themed Wedding Ceremony Script with Reading & Rum Toast

This original wedding ceremony script is non-stop fun from bow to stern, and from the officiant’s welcoming speech to the exciting pronouncement and introduction of the newlyweds. 

 

Filled with festive seafaring slang, nautical imagery, and meaningful rituals, this ceremony is truly a treasure fit for a… Well, a pirate! 

 

In addition to a unique vow and ring exchange (with plundered gold, of course), this officiant script includes a reading of the lyrics to Ben Harper’s “Gold to Me,” a declaration of support from the couple’s shipmates (guests), a traditional hand blessing ceremony, and a unity rum shot or toast. 

 

From the script: 

 

“[Partner A] and [Partner B], your marriage today is the ceremonial joining of your souls that have already been united as one in your hearts. This means you must enter into commitment with no lien on your ships, and be willing to sail together until one or both of you sink with the ship. 

 

To go the distance, you will need strength, courage, patience, a good sense of humor, and sometimes, lots of RUM!”

 

This fun ceremony stays the course, perfectly balancing the fun of a pirate theme with heartfelt authenticity. It’s non-religious and funny, and can be easily modified for the participation of friends, relatives, and children.
