Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi finally released photos from their second wedding ceremony, including a gorgeous photo of Millie's Stranger Things co-star Matthew Modine serving as wedding officiant!
Actor Matthew Modine co-stars alongside Millie Bobby Brown in Stranger Things as Dr. Martin Brenner. In March, Modine shared that Millie had asked him to officiate her wedding to Jake Bongiovi, and that he'd even written personal wedding vows for the couple to read during the ceremony. Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have been legally married since May of 2024, when they took their vows in a secret wedding. They held a larger second ceremony in July in Italy, but didn’t release many details about the day.
Now, after months of waiting, fans finally get to see inside the couple’s lavish Italian wedding. Photos of the multi-day wedding weekend were shared on Millie and Jake’s social media accounts earlier this week.
Among the gorgeous photos shared by Jake is a great shot of actor Matthew Modine serving as officiant!
Modine told reporters back in March that he’d been asked to officiate the star-powered ceremony, and said he’d even written special wedding vows for Millie and Jake.
“I have one of those licenses to get people married and Millie thought it'd be great,” Modine told Access Hollywood at the time. “And then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows, and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife,” he said.
It’s unclear whether Modine officiated the couple’s first wedding as well as their second ceremony (technically a vow renewal, since the couple was already married), but it’s very possible. Modine has officiated a legal wedding before, after all, when he united two friends in marriage during the COVID pandemic, and is honored by the role of the wedding officiant.
"I’ve done it one time before during Covid in upstate New York,” he told Access Daily (in the clip above). “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.”
We couldn't agree more! Congratulations to the happy couple, and bravissimo to Modine on a truly beautiful ceremony.
