Bennifer planned a Sequel Wedding! Maybe you should, too.

Newlyweds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (or Bennifer, if you prefer…) are renewing their vows in a second wedding ceremony this weekend! 

 

After a secret Las Vegas elopement back in July, the spotlight-wary lovebirds are finally ready to walk down the aisle publicly.

 

Second weddings, or sequel weddings as they’ve been fashionably dubbed over the past few years, are a perfect solution for couples who want to wed with privacy AND a party, so it’s no surprise that these two are planning one. 

 

See, sequel weddings work like this: First, a couple gets married in an intimate, quick and easy elopement ceremony. Then, they hold a larger public wedding later, in order to properly celebrate with friends and family members. (Or in Bennifer’s case, friends, family, frenemies, other A-listers, and fans.)

 

Technically, these second weddings are vow renewal ceremonies, but they can look and feel just like a traditional wedding if a couple wants them to.

Planning this ‘elopement-then-sequel wedding’ combo gives you a way to make your marriage legal without a wait. Lopez and Affleck are expected to hold their multi-day sequel ceremony and celebration at Affleck’s 87 acre estate in Riceboro, Georgia – about 45 minutes south of Savannah. 

 

Sources say there will be high fashion, including a custom Ralph Lauren dress that Lopez has been saving for a special occasion, and an A-list events planner that’s no stranger to working with the biggest budgets in showbiz. (via Harpers Bazaar)

 

And, of course, the guest list is bound to be epic. With Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Casey Affleck, Drea de Matteo, and plenty more Hollywood favorites expected to show (via Page Six), this event has all the makings for an unforgettable full-size follow-up to their charming Vegas starter ceremony! 

 

 

Of course the big question on OUR minds is… 

 

Who will officiate this star-studded second wedding bash? 

 

Will it be Lopez’s close pal Leah Remini? Will Matt Damon do double duty as best friend and wedding officiant? 

 

Asking a friend to get ordained to officiate your wedding ceremony is definitely a celebrity trend – just ask Harry Styles, Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen, or Michelle Obama – so we might see even more star power than expected walking down the aisle this weekend!
