This Rhode Island bride and groom weren’t going to let a blizzard get in the way of their wedding…
Adam and Sally Irujo said ‘I do’ outdoors on Saturday in Providence, Rhode Island, while a historic nor’easter dumped record levels of snow along the East Coast.
The massive winter storm sent most people indoors, and more than 1,400 U.S. flights were cancelled on Sunday. Some areas saw multiple feet of snow, breaking records in Boston and New York City, and it's the fourth largest storm ever recorded in Providence.
But while most residents rode out the storm indoors, Adam and Sally had a wedding to get to.

The couple stomped through snow banks and down slushy sidewalks to the Providence Library, where their wedding officiant waited patiently, followed by a parade of family and friends dressed in puffy coats and mittens.
They were married on the steps of the library while the rosy-cheeked crowd cheered.
This unlikely ceremony reminds us of that time Stephen Colbert joked that ‘A Perfect Storm’ isn't the most desirable wedding theme, while discussing the unique challenges facing couples marrying during the 2021/ 2022 wedding season, on his show last September.
(Did you know Colbert was ordained with American Marriage Ministries in 2013? Yep! You can get ordained with AMM, too.)
We don’t know if this is what he meant at the time…

Still, Adam and Sally’s unstoppable attitude definitely demonstrates that this wedding season is unlike any we’ve seen before – with a record number of couples clamoring to get married, and wedding venues, caterers, florists, and officiants stretched to the max to accommodate them.
Couples like these two are tired of waiting to get hitched, and it looks like neither the coronavirus pandemic, nor a little inclement weather, are going to stand in their way.
