Fun Non Religious Wedding Ceremony Script With Reference To Children

This is a short fun and funny non-religious wedding ceremony script that recognizes the children from the bride and/or groom's previous marriage. This script was written by American Marriage Ministries to serve as a starting point for your own wedding ceremony. We encourage you to use this script as is or build on this script for a more personalized ceremony for the couple.

INVOCATION

officiant to the reception

"Welcome, everyone.

I know that [PARTNER A] and [PARTNER B] appreciate you coming to this event. We have guests from near, far and even so far they are virtual. Having you here is part of what makes this event special for them.

Today we finally get to see [PARTNER A] and [PARTNER B] get married. Let me be the first to say 'It's about damn time' Holy smoke, I was beginning to think they were going to wait until the next millennium. So before they change their minds, let’s get this ball rolling."

DECLARATION OF INTENT

officiant to the groom

"Alright, Dude, repeat after me:

I, [PARTNER A], take you, [PARTNER B], for my lawful wife.

To have and hold, from this day forward.

For better and for worse.

For richer for poorer.

In sickness and health.

Until death do us part."

  • PARTNER A REPEATS THE VOWS LINE BY LINE.
