Fun LEGO® Themed Wedding Ideas!

LEGO® Themed Wedding Ideas: Building happy memories together, one brick at a time!

When it comes to fun wedding theme ideas, it doesn’t get much sweeter than a LEGO® themed wedding.

These colorful bricks and kits have been delighting us for decades, and they can be included in almost every part of your wedding day.

Build small, or build big: Add a few simple elements to your traditional wedding decor – like a LEGO® cake topper or LEGO® wedding favors – or design a true LEGO® lover's dream wedding brick by brick, including LEGO® themed wedding invitations, wedding vows, and unity ceremony.

Whatever kind of LEGO® wedding theme you’re dreaming of, the ideas below can help you get started.

But before we dive in, remember: LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. We’re just LEGO® fans, writing for other LEGO® fans so that you can plan a truly brick-tastic wedding day.

10 Cute LEGO® Wedding Ideas

1. LEGO® Puns & Stories in the Wedding Ceremony Script

Ask your wedding officiant to include fun LEGO® puns and references in your wedding ceremony script! These puns and stories can be silly, funny, sweet, or sentimental, depending on the tone you want for your wedding ceremony.

For example, you might include a few funny puns during a personalized Wedding Invocation or Wedding Welcome, or ask your wedding officiant to include a sentimental story about how you and your sweetheart bonded over a love of LEGO®, or knew your love was true after you built your first kit together.

Consider a few of the classic LEGO® love puns below to get started. Then add your favorite puns or stories to a simple wedding ceremony script from AMM’s Ceremony Script Library to create something new:

  • “Never LE-GO (let go) of the love you share.”
  • “A lasting marriage is about BUILDING something real together.”
  • “Building a life together, BRICK by BRICK.”
  • “PIECE by PIECE, day by day, you’ve BUILT a love to last.”
  • “You two just CLICK; it’s a perfect FIT.”

2. LEGO® Unity Ceremony or Unity Ritual

A ‘unity ceremony’ is a symbolic ritual that’s included in your wedding ceremony to celebrate you and your partner joining together in marriage, or ‘uniting in love’ as you start this new chapter in life together. Unity rituals are one of the best places to get creative, have fun, and share your unique interests! They are also a great way to involve children and blended families in the wedding ceremony.

Instead of a traditional unity ceremony, consider one of these special LEGO® themed unity ceremony ideas:

  • Build a LEGO® version of yourself (or your spouse) the night before and ‘unite’ them at the wedding altar
  • Personalize a Unity Candle Ceremony with candle holders built from LEGO® bricks
  • Pour colorful LEGO® bricks into a large glass vase in a twist on the traditional Unity Sand Ceremony (Replace sand with bricks for this ritual)
  • Build a LEGO® heart with your initials (like this one)
  • Include a LEGO® ‘Walk of Fire’ to demonstrate your love, like the couple below. (The bride's face says it all!)

3. Wedding Ring Box Made of LEGO® Bricks

Build a cute wedding ring box with LEGO® bricks! You might build two small boxes (one for each ring), or a larger box (to hold both rings) using bricks in your wedding colors.

See an example of a ring box built from plastic bricks on LEGO IDEAS.

Then, choose a ring bearer to present you and your sweetheart with the rings during the Wedding Ring Exchange. This is a great opportunity to include a child or children in your wedding ceremony – nieces and nephews make great ring bearers, too!

4. LEGO® Inspired Wedding Vows

Wedding vows are the heart of the wedding ceremony! These vows are the promises you make to your partner for the years ahead.

Personalize your wedding vows with sweet references to your shared love of LEGO®, add a personal story or promise, or include a funny LEGO® pun to make your sweetheart laugh.

Here are three vow examples that show how your love of LEGO® might be included in your vows:

  • “I knew that I had found my ‘person’ when I could spend a whole Saturday with you, just playing with LEGO® bricks, just hanging out for hours talking and laughing. I want to spend all my Saturdays with you, and every day in between. I promise to love you, to cherish you for all of my days. To be a husband / wife you can trust and rely on, and to build a beautiful life with you, one day and one piece at a time.”

  • “I promise to share the covers, leave the toilet seat down, and not leave my LEGO® bricks laying around on the ground to step on. Most of all, I vow to never stop playing with you, and to love you as my best friend, lover, and partner in life.”

  • ‘Repeat after me’ style vows, led by the Officiant:

“I take you, (Name), to be my lego-lly wedding wife,
to have and to hold from this day forward,
For better, for worse,
For richer, for poorer,
In sickness and in health,
To play with, and to build with,
To love, and to cherish,
Till death do us part.
In the presence of our beloved friends and family,
I make this vow.”

5. LEGO® Costume for the Wedding Officiant, a Family Pet, or Wedding Attendants

For an unforgettable LEGO® themed wedding, ask your wedding officiant or wedding attendants to dress up in costume! Or consider a cute LEGO® dog costume (check out the cute example below), to have your furry friend walk you down the aisle in style. LEGO® costumes can also be part of a cosplay wedding or Halloween wedding theme!

6. LEGO® Cake Topper or Dessert Table Decor

A LEGO® cake topper or decor is a simple way to include fun LEGO® elements in the wedding day. Purchase an official LEGO® Wedding Favor Set to add to the dessert table as fun decor, or create your own custom wedding cake topper or table setting with characters that look just like you and your sweetheart!

7. LEGO® Themed Wedding Invitations or Save the Dates

The only thing that spreads more joy than LEGO® bricks is your upcoming wedding! Include your cute LEGO® wedding theme in your wedding invitation design or save the date cards.

Save the date cards or emails are usually sent about 6 to 8 months before your wedding day. This gives friends and family time to plan ahead so that they can attend your wedding. Wedding invitations are a bit more formal and are usually sent out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding date. Both types of cards are a great opportunity to share your love for LEGO®, and to share details about the location, theme, or dress code of your event.

8. Creative LEGO® Wedding Guest Book

A guest book can become a beautiful keepsake of your wedding day, reminding you of all the loving friends and family that showed up to support you as you started this new chapter in life. The best kind of guest book also captures your energy and spirit on the wedding day, and it’s a great way to commemorate your wedding theme!

Add LEGO® stickers or a plastic-brick style font to the cover of a traditional guest book, or get really creative like a few LEGO® couples have  – by asking guests to create minifigures in their likeness to show their support.

See one full gallery of images here, including the table a couple set up at their ceremony with a variety of pieces available for guests to use to create their minifigure). Or check out a second couple’s video below!

9. LEGO® Themed Wedding Favors

Wedding favors are a thoughtful way to thank guests for attending your event. They can include practical items, like bottled water or sunscreen, or fun items, like LEGO® toys! Or a little bit of both…

Add minifigures of you and your new spouse to your wedding favor bags to give guests a fun way to remember your big day, or adorn a more practical gift bag with a LEGO® heart that symbolizes your love.

10. LEGO® Inspired Songs for Your Playlist

Last but definitely not least, add a little LEGO® fun to your wedding playlist! Choose a LEGO® themed song for your walk down the aisle (the processional song), or your festive exit after the ceremony (the recessional song). Or add a few brick-ified hits to your reception playlist!

A few suggestions include the danceable AJR hit off Neotheater, ‘Don’t Throw Out My Legos,’  Ed Sheeran’s love song ‘Lego House,’ the Beastie Boy hit, ‘Putting Shame In Your Game,’ or ‘Everything Is Awesome!!!’ from The Lego Movie – because everything is awesome when you’re part of a team. And marriage? That’s the ultimate team!
