Cinderella, 1950 (cropped scene)
Cinderella and Prince Charming’s royal wedding has been inspiring couples for decades! Attended by the couple's closest friends and family, the elaborate wedding happened mostly off screen. Two bluebirds held Cinderella’s veil as the couple left the church (something not easy to replicate, but easy to pay homage to with some stylish embroidery) and were whisked away in a romantic horse-drawn carriage. “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce ya’ll Frog and Wife. Get to it, Hop-along, give your lovely bride some sugar!” -- Mama Odie
This cute variation on the traditional “You may now kiss the bride!” comes from Mama Odie, who officiated a sweet outdoor ceremony for Prince Naveen and Tiana while they’re both still frogs. These sweethearts also celebrate with a second formal ceremony in a church, so that friends and family can attend… (The Princess and The Frog)

The Little Mermaid, 1989 (cropped scene)
Ariel and Prince Eric are joined by the prince’s adorable sheepdog, Max, on their wedding day. These two aren’t the only couple to want to include a pet in their wedding ceremony! It’s a trend that’s becoming more common, especially for nontraditional ceremonies like theirs… which was on a large boat so that Ariel’s friends could attend. (The Little Mermaid)

Family all around! Carl and Ellie’s traditional wedding was held inside a church, with a member of the clergy officiating, but we can easily imagine them choosing a more casual wedding instead, with one of Ellie’s rambunctious and loving family members performing the ceremony. Carl’s family is a little less… enthusiastic. (Up)

Robin Hood, 1973 (cropped scene)
Robin Hood’s moonlit proposal to Maid Marian, with a lotus flower tied to fit around her finger, has been making romantics swoon since the early 70s. Who needs a ring when you have a dreamy, spontaneous moment like that? The two lovers made their marriage official in a small church, in the company of all their woodland friends. Flowers make another important appearance, with Marian holding a gorgeous bouquet of fresh cut wildflowers that’s later caught by Sis Rabbit, Skippy’s older sister (much to Skippy’s dismay). The Incredibles, 2004 (cropped scene)
“You are my greatest adventure… and I almost missed it.” -- Mr. Incredible
Elastigirl married Mr. Incredible in a beautiful and traditional ceremony… Well, after Mr. Incredible actually showed up. He may have had his reasons, but he was very, very late to the altar and almost missed that adventure, too! Luckily things worked out, because these two (and their playful banter) are adorable together. (The Incredibles)
