Elvis Presley Themed Wedding Ceremony Script

This fun wedding ceremony script captures the spirit and magic of Elvis, with love song lyrics written into the wedding vows, invocation, and ring exchange. Perfect for non traditional couples looking for a humorous wedding script. You don’t have to go to Vegas to get married by The King of Rock n Roll!

Procession

  • “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” plays or is performed live as the couple walks down the aisle together. Guests should be standing.
  • The first two verses of the song should be sufficient time for the couple to reach the front of the room.
  • Officiant is dressed in an Elvis - inspired outfit: colorful bell bottom pants, blazer, and sunglasses, with styled sideburns and pompadour. rhinestones are optional but encouraged.

Invocation

Officiant to reception

Thank you, thank you very much. You may be seated.

Welcome, everyone. Today we gather here to celebrate the marriage of _________ and _________.  How about a round of applause for these two?

  • Guests all cheer

Officiant to Partner A

__________, you look beautiful. Are you excited?

Partner A

 Yes!

Officiant to partner a

It's an exciting time! You’re here with the one you love.

Officiant to Partner B

And _________, look to your (right / left). Look into (her/his/their) eyes, so young and beautiful!

Aren’t they just darlin’? Not only is this (woman/man/sweetheart) absolutely adorable, (she’s/he’s/they’re) happy. Now it’s your job to keep it that way for the rest of your days on Earth. Are you up for it?

Partner B

Yes!

Officiant to couple

Well alright! You two, today is all about a promise. A promise to cherish one another, no matter what comes your way, with a love that’s tender and true. A promise to stay honest and faithful when times get hard and confusing, ‘cause they certainly will. And a promise that remember that any place is paradise, as long as you’re together.

Today is about celebrating the special bond you two share. If you keep loving each other the way you've been loving each other, that bond is bound to last forever.

Exchange of Wedding Vows

  • If the couple has prepared their own personal wedding vows, they’ll exchange them now. Otherwise, the officiant can offer these vows inspired by popular Elvis love song lyrics in a classic call-and-response exchange.

Officiant to couple

Turn to face each other and hold hands.

  • They do

Officiant to Partner A

_________, are you ready to take _________ as your wife/husband/partner?

Partner A

Yes!

Officiant to Partner A

Then repeat after me...

  • Partner A repeats each line in turn

I promise to never step on your blue suede shoes,

Or treat you like a fool.

I promise to love you tender,

And never return to sender.

I promise to always be your loving teddy bear,

Because your kisses lift me higher,

Like the sweet song of a choir.

You light my morning sky,

With burning love.

I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love for you.

Officiant to Partner B

And _________, are you ready to take _________ as your wife/husband/partner?

Partner B

Yes!

Officiant to Partner B

Alright! Repeat after me...

  • Partner B repeats each line in turn

I promise to never leave you in Heartbreak Hotel,

Or have a suspicious mind.

I promise to love you tender, and love you sweet,

And never let you go.

You have made my life complete,

And I promise to always love you so.

Because your kisses lift me higher,

Like the sweet song of a choir.

You light my morning sky,

With burning love.

I'm just a hunk, a hunk of burning love for you.

Ring Exchange

Officiant to couple

_________ and  _________, you’ve chosen to exchange wedding rings, which symbolize the promise of lasting marriage and your devotion to each other.

  • A groomsman, bridesmaid, or other member of the wedding party hands the officiant the wedding rings.

Like a fountain of love, flowing endlessly, these rings and the love they represent will nourish you, in this life and the next.

The ring is only a symbol. It shows the world that you belong to someone, just as they belong to your heart. But remember as you wear them, that your care, devotion, and concern for one another are the true signs of your love.

  • Officiant hands each partner a ring.
  • The couple slip the wedding rings onto each other’s fingers.
