If a Cat Was in Charge of Your Wedding Ceremony…

To all the cats reading this while blocking the monitor, it’s just a joke! (Mostly.) We love you, and your tiny tyrant ways.

Skip to the end for our favorite tips on how to include cats in weddings.

If your cat was in charge of your wedding ceremony…

The wedding reception is first. It’s been AGES since we’ve had a bite to eat, and we’ll simply perish if we don’t eat again right now. Nothing else can happen until there’s been a meal, ok?

After the reception is nap time. This isn’t negotiable, and naps will happen in the middle of everything else you are trying to do. Trying to walk down the aisle to the altar? Sorry, naps.

The best unity ceremony is ‘making muffins’ together. Nothing says ‘lasting love and devotion’ like aggressively kneading your partner’s lap and purring while staring into each other’s eyes romantically. Try it.

Forget the wedding rings. You will exchange mice. Maybe live ones, but probably not.

Guest seating will be an assortment of perches and cardboard boxes. If I fits, I sits!

You might think this day is about you, but it’s not. It’s about cats.

Your ‘moment of mindfulness’ has become a ‘moment of judgemental stares.’ You will take the stares and you will like it. This will be followed by more snacks for the cats.

No venue doors shall remain shut! Every room is a cat room, but cats belong to no room!

Think you can set your glass of champagne down safely? Think again! All glasses shall be batted to the floor immediately upon discovery.

And last but not least – watch your dangling ties and dress hems. An attack may be imminent.
