Does your grocery shopping list include a wedding ceremony? Maybe it should…
A couple in Michigan was married at the Aldi Insights Center near Chicago earlier this month, after winning an all-expenses paid wedding package from their favorite grocery chain in August.
Joined by their closest friends and family, grocery-enthusiasts Michael Hurd and Jessica Bojanowski took their vows surrounded by artfully arranged produce stands, filled to the top with fresh red and green apples.
“Getting married at Aldi feels like a dream come true,” the couple told reporters at TODAY Food. “We still can’t believe we had the opportunity to get married in one of our favorite places, surrounded by all our family and friends.”

Grocery shopping holds a special place in the couple’s hearts, because it’s one of the few opportunities the busy couple has to spend together. The Hurds have an opposite work schedule, they said, which has made their Aldi trips more meaningful. (via PEOPLE)
“We’ve always cherished our Sunday morning shopping ‘dates’ at Aldi,” the couple told TODAY. “It’s something we look forward to doing together each week. As soon as we heard about the contest to get married in an Aldi, we both agreed it was fate,” they said.

The wedding was officiated by Aldi USA’s Chicago-area Media Marketing Manager, Matthew Case, who specializes in digital media and audience activation. (Looks like it worked!) The prize was part of the first-ever “Happily Ever ALDI” contest and included a wedding photographer, hair and makeup services, groceries for a year, a full reception, an ALDI-themed wedding cake, and more. Officiant Matthew Case’s wedding ceremony script was well-stocked with grocery related puns and references to popular Aldi products, TODAY reported, and several friends were invited to give readings during the ceremony.
