Couples in Calhoun County, Michigan can now apply for their marriage license online!
The Calhoun County Clerk's new online system allows couples to apply for their marriage license from the comfort of their own homes. After submitting the online application, couples visit the clerk’s office in person to confirm their personal details and pick up the license.
In Michigan, couples must apply for a marriage license in the county they reside in. (Once issued, their license can be used anywhere in the state.) Out of state residents must apply for a marriage license in the county where they plan to get married. A marriage license costs $20 for residents and $30 for nonresidents.
To be eligible to apply online in Calhoun County, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a Social Security Number, and not require a 3-day waiver. You’ll also need to bring a copy of your birth certificate when visiting the office to pick up your license.
