What do you do when you’ve already planned -- and purchased -- an incredible wedding that you no longer need? That was the question a NY bride found herself asking when she and her fiance suddenly decided to move their wedding date up in favor of a quick-and-easy ceremony.
Her answer? Sell the whole wedding -- from venue to vendors -- on TikTok at a discount.
Mackenzie Newcomb and Ben Jerrom were engaged in September 2019 and set the date for September of the following year. They found a trendy venue, fantastic photographer, a Pinterest-worthy florist, paying for every detail along the way. Soon, they’d put together an exquisite Brooklyn ‘budget’ wedding, at a cost of $23,000.
When the pandemic hit, their scheduled date became impossible. So Mackenzie and Ben did what many couples chose to and postponed their wedding for September of 2021. But following the death of a family member, a move, and a few other personal hardships, the couple decided to get married spontaneously instead, in a small, outdoor, waterfront wedding with just their close family.
Now married, the couple no longer need their stylish city wedding, and Mackenzie is selling the entire package on TikTok with an enticing pitch to engaged New Yorkers -- she’ll give the lucky couple a deep discount.
The video includes photos of the venue, examples of the florist’s and photographer’s work, and even her wedding dress, and has already received well over 130,000 views (and counting).

Small, intimate ceremonies are trending as more and more couples realize that they don’t need a large, expensive party to celebrate their marriage. All they really need is a meaningful ceremony to exchange their vows, and the company of their closest loved ones.
That’s why more couples are asking friends and family members to officiate their weddings, choosing backyard and home ceremonies, eloping, and planning microweddings that help their budgets go farther. With smaller ceremonies, couples are able to create beautiful memories while focusing only on the things that are truly important to them.
