We’re really excited about the return of wedding show season. (And not just because we’ve been stuck in our living rooms binging RuPaul’s Drag Race, reenacting roasts in stretch pants and bedazzled bathrobes.) Just maybe you’re excited, too.
Every year, beginning in January and continuing throughout the spring, wedding vendors celebrate the coming wedding season with a frenzy of bridal shows, wedding expos, designer drops, and cocktail parties. And every city puts its own unique spin on things.
But we knew shows would look different this year, with many events moving online to keep vendors and couples safer. Could virtual events bring the same energy of shows past, we wondered? Did we dare to dream?
Nightly DJs, interactive vendor talks, daily cocktail recipes, lace-filled fashion shows, honeymoon giveaways, a virtual photo booth, and even an electric violin performance!
The set-up was a breeze to navigate. There was a week-long schedule and daily itinerary to keep track of all of the events, which was helpful because there was a lot going on! There were various “rooms” to browse through, and in each one you could “visit” each vendor to learn more about their services, see a few examples of their work, and gather their contact information.
All in all, this particular experience was extremely interactive, well organized, and showcased an impressive amount of vendors. When Atlanta throws a party - even a virtual party - they don’t hold back. The AWE was a true extravaganza.... seven surprise-filled days that showed us nothing (and we mean nothing) can get in the way of love, fashion, or multi-tiered cake.
If you missed the event, you can still read advice from wedding experts on becoming a bridechilla, choosing a dress, and finding wedding deals during Covid on the event’s Tips & Ideas page. Or visit their Vendor Directory or photo Gallery for planning inspiration.
