Once again, Dripping Springs has captured the hearts of newlyweds and state legislators – and will likely continue its reign as the ‘Wedding Capital of Texas’ for another ten years.
The resolution to redesignate Dripping Springs as the state’s premiere marriage destination through 2035 was sent to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk last week. Once signed, the town will continue to wear its crown with confidence.
Read the full text of this resolution here: Texas House Concurrent Resolution 58 / "Redesignating Dripping Springs as the official Wedding Capital of Texas for a 10-year period ending in 2035."
Dripping Springs is a thriving town of just under 9,000 people, nestled in the Texas Hill Country. It’s not too far from Austin and home to stunning natural beauty, like yearly wildflowers and the popular Jacob's Well and Hamilton Pool Preserve. There’s a bustling arts and music community, plenty of good food and drinks, and an estimated 35 wedding venues within a 15-mile radius.
That’s one of the highest number of wedding venues per capita any place in the country! And for couples who prefer a nontraditional wedding venue, like a cafe, library, or park, that number only goes up.
First 'crowned' the wedding capital in 2015, it's no wonder that the town has been chosen for another decade of recognition, though it’s not official until Abbott signs the legislation. (Which is likely to happen any day now.)
There's no shortage of wedding venues or wedding officiants in Dripping Springs, it's the wedding captial of the state after all...
But sometimes the perfect officiant is the one you already know!
