10 Fun Ideas for Nudist Weddings & Elopements

Thinking about getting married in a nudist wedding? We’ve got great news for you! Nude weddings are becoming more and more popular every year, which means you have more nudist wedding venues, understanding wedding vendors, and wedding ideas to choose from than in the past.

This increasing enthusiasm for weddings au naturel makes sense: nude weddings are often more affordable than the average wedding cost, and you don’t need to rent or buy an expensive wedding dress or wedding suit. And nudist weddings are authentic, spiritual, creative, fun, and usually bring you closer to nature. There’s plenty to love about nude / naturist weddings!

Below, we’ve put together 5 of our favorite nudist wedding ideas to include in your big day, to help you plan a wedding that’s uniquely YOU.

If you need a detailed look at how to have a nudist wedding, including legal details and info on the marriage license, read this article first:

Now let’s take a look at some creative wedding ideas to help you say YES to the un-dress!

10 Nudist Wedding Ideas

1.  Get married on National Nude Day

National Nude Day happens every year on July 14th and is one of the best wedding dates for a naturist wedding. And with its warm temps and blue skies, summer is a great season to plan a nude beach wedding or low-stress naturist camping ceremony.

2. Get creative with your nudist wedding venue!

Get creative with your venue! For the most accepting environment (with fewer surprises), consider nudist cruises, a nudist camp or campsites, an all-inclusive nudist resort, or naturist community. You’ll also have fun with a simple elopement at a nudist beach, a mermaid theme underwater wedding, or a destination wedding at one of the world’s most popular nudist destinations.

3. Boobs t-shirts for your shy guests

As much fun as a day in the nude might be, naturism is not for everyone! For those shy guests, hand out t-shirts decorated with cartoon boob drawings, aka a 'boob shirt.' These creative wedding favors work for any gender and will make for an unforgettable and funny wedding ceremony -- with everyone in their comfort zone.

Boob shirts make a great, funny wedding favor for clothing-optional naturist weddings, especially when some guests aren't comfortable hanging out nude. Above are two examples of funny shirts for party favors. (Photo Left:  A RedBubble Seller / Photo Right: An Etsy Seller)

4. Face & body painting

Face or body paint is a perfect way to add some unexpected beauty to the day! Hire someone to provide live painting for guests during the reception, or create a stunning, minimalist body painted wedding dress for your ceremony. Choose from metallic and glitter paints, colorful tribal designs, floral accents, fairy themed or butterfly face paint, and many more fun ideas.

5. Have a friend officiate your wedding

Ask a friend to get ordained online to officiate your wedding! Friends and relatives make great wedding officiants, especially for a nudist wedding because it can be more comfortable to have a friend officiating if you’re in the nude.

6. Themed wedding pinata for a nudist wedding reception

What would you fill a themed wedding pinata with at a nudist wedding? Depending on the tone of your wedding (sexy, raunchy / adult, silly, or wholesome family themed), you might include: temporary tattoos, glow sticks, mini bottles of booze, ring pops, lotto tickets / scratchers, bubbles, bead necklaces in your wedding colors, ‘candy ass’ butt shaped candies, hard candy penises or ‘pecker pops.’

7. Flower bouquets and wrist corsages

No boutonnieres necessary, or possible! Instead give your wedding attendants the choice to carry big beautiful wedding bouquets, or to wear tasteful wrist corsages. Bouquets might make it easier to pose when it’s time for wedding photos, too!

8. Veils, garter belts, and bowties

A long wedding veil, lacy garters, and stylish bowties are all easy ways to accessorize at a nudist wedding. In addition to your wedding day jewelry and shoes (if you wear them), these simple accents can be purchased in your wedding colors, or stick with classic white and black. Veils, bowties, and garter belts can be worn by a bride, groom, bridesmaid or groomsman, or any newlywed or wedding attendant regardless of gender!

9. Nudist wedding photos and videos

There’s no reason to skip the traditional wedding photos at a nudist wedding, as long as you have permission from everyone ‘in frame.’ Make sure to follow the photography rules for your venue, too; some nude beaches restrict photography, for example. We suggest you hire a professional wedding photographer to make sure the angles and lighting are flattering for everyone involved (sunscreen has a glare), and take photos privately before the ceremony, during your wedding vows or ring exchange, for the first kiss, and any other time that feels right!

10. Hire a nudist minister or naturist wedding officiant

If you don’t want to have a friend officiate your wedding, you’ll need to hire a professional wedding officiant. We suggest finding a nudist minister or naturist wedding officiant who understands the spiritual aspects of naturism and is comfortable with the nudist lifestyle. Don’t stress, these special wedding officiants do exist, you just have to know where to look! Contact the events staff at your nearest nudist resort or naturist campsite for leads, or see if they offer a preferred vendor list for weddings
