2026’s Most Reliable Wedding Venues: Why Experts Love These Local Favorites

Published Friday, Feb. 6th, 2026

graphic shows bride and groom, map of US with hearts where venues are located

To celebrate venue booking season, we took an informal survey to ask wedding officiants and other vendors about their favorite local wedding venues, and the results are in! This list of wedding venues from around the country might help jumpstart your search for the perfect place to tie the knot – venues vetted by real wedding professionals across the country!

Why do we trust professional wedding vendors when it’s time to pick a venue? Because wedding officiants, photographers, and other day-of vendors know the good, bad, and ugly sides of wedding venues. They see behind the scenes, work closely with venue staff, and understand what it takes to make a wedding day go smoothly. Great venues make a vendor’s job easier, so they aren’t shy when it’s time to tell the truth about one! If a wedding officiant says they love a venue, chances are that you will too.

When is Venue Booking Season?

Venue Booking Season peaks in January and February, immediately following Engagement Season (Nov-February). This is the busiest time of the year for venue bookings, when newly-engaged couples race to secure their wedding dates at a chosen location. Venue tours and contract signings spike, and competition for popular wedding venues can be fierce. Historic and luxury venues can even book out a year or two in advance!

When Should You Book a Wedding Venue?

Experts agree that it's best to book your wedding venue 12 to 18 months before your wedding date, as some locations book up quickly – especially if you've chosen venue that's in high-demand. For couples who are getting married on a shorter timeline, we suggest you book your wedding venue as early as possible. This is a great time to choose your wedding officiant, too!

The Pro-Approved List: Some of 2026’s Most Reliably-Wonderful Wedding Venues by State

California Wedding Venues

1. Little Treasure Cove Overlook

Newport Beach, CA

This spot sits within Crystal Cove State Park and overlooks the Pacific from above, offering wide, uninterrupted ocean views that are truly special.

The space itself is simple and a bit weathered, but that’s part of what makes the experience so honest. The real appeal here is the scenery. You can hear the waves, smell the ocean, and feel completely immersed in the natural surroundings. It’s best-suited for very small, able-bodied groups and elopements.

“Chapel on the Dunes is the crown jewel of The Coastal Bend and my personal favorite place to officiate…It’s intimate, poetic, and feels like a miracle every time I’m there. There’s something spiritual about it. The history, the sunlight, the story of survival, and the intimate way it holds only a small number of people.

What I love most is that anyone can get married here. You don’t have to belong to a particular denomination. I’ve been officiating ceremonies at Chapel on the Dunes since around 2014, and it still touches my heart every single time. The white stucco, the quiet hilltop, the ocean breeze… it’s timeless. If I could choose only one place to marry couples for the rest of my life, it would be here.”
