AMM is thrilled to announce our very first children’s book about weddings and the important role of the wedding officiant: Wynn the Wedding Officiant!
This sweet story is told through the eyes of little Wynn, a young girl who loves attending family weddings and dreams of one day being a wedding officiant who says the magic words, “I now pronounce you married!”
Picture books about weddings: This sweet book is more than just an introduction to the wedding ceremony, it’s also a chance to meet the special wedding helpers that bring the ceremony to life, the wedding officiant! Follow along as Wynn discovers the magic of officiating a wedding.

Introduce your children to a few popular roles for young children in weddings (including 'flower fairy,' ring bearer, wedding guest, and reading a poem).
Learn about the parts of a wedding ceremony and what kids can expect at their first wedding, including the ‘wedding procession’ or walk down the aisle, the exchange of wedding vows, the marriage pronouncement, and more. A simple glossary in the back of the book will help you and your young readers expand your vocabulary, with wedding words and concepts you might encounter on the wedding day.
Then, meet the important wedding helper that makes a wedding possible – the wedding officiant! – and learn about different types of wedding officiants. (Including spiritual and religious officiants, non-religious and civil officiants, and even friends as wedding officiants!)
Say the magic wedding words along with Wynn as you read together: "I now pronounce you married!"
Children's books on weddings sometimes overlook one of our favorite wedding helpers, the wedding officiant! Learn about the different types of wedding officiants, from religious and civil wedding officiants to friend officiants! (Above: Illustrations from Wynn the Wedding Officiant)
This picture book features original illustrations of diverse families, inclusive language, and different types of marriers. With drawings of LGBTQ+ wedding scenes and couples, an interracial wedding couple, and a sweet wedding for an older couple (when Wynn’s grandmother and Mr. Harold tie the knot!), these cute drawings help teach children that ‘love is love’ and that marriage is for everyone.
Here at AMM, we believe in the value of children’s books about gay marriage and marriage equality, unique wedding celebrations, and diverse families. Inclusive kids’ books capture our hearts and imagination, and help to spread empathy, love, and acceptance across generations. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce Wynn the Wedding Officiant to our readers!

Wynn the Wedding Officiant introduces children to one of the most important jobs in your community: the wedding officiant! This often-overlooked job is essential in bringing a wedding to life and bringing families together in marriage. And anyone can learn how to become a wedding officiant!
Your young readers will learn about different types of wedding officiants and be inspired by the role they play in pronouncing a couple married at the wedding ceremony.
