Ernesto Reinares Varea is a ‘professional wedding destroyer’ living in Spain. His job is ruining weddings – at the request of nervous brides who are too afraid to cancel the wedding themselves.
If this sounds too outlandish to be true, you’d better keep reading!

Ernesto says he got into the business of destroying weddings as a prank: He offered to rescue brides or grooms with cold feet by showing up on the big day to object to the wedding and declaring himself to be their one true love, thereby bringing the celebration to a halt and giving the anxious bride an easy out.
But what started as a joke quickly turned into a real gig, when numerous brides contacted him for his unusual cold feet wedding service… he’s now a professional wedding destroyer, or ‘Destrozobodas.’
“I have weddings scheduled until December,” Ernesto says. “If you have doubts or don’t want to get married and don’t know how to refuse, don’t worry anymore, I’ll object to your wedding,” he said. (via New York Post & Newsflash)

Ernesto charges $550 to destroy a wedding, plus an extra $50 for each time he gets kicked, punched, or elbowed… no matter how hard it hits.
That’s not exactly cheap, but it’s a lot less than a divorce might cost you!
For those in the U.S. who are curious about this wedding side hustle and might want to ruin weddings on their own, Ernesto’s Wallapop ad went something like this:
“Si no te quieres casar pero no sabes cómo negar, no te preocupes: yo me opondré a tu enlace.
Solo tienes que decirme hora, fecha y lugar. Yo aparecece en plena ceremonia diciendo que soy el gran amor de tu vida y nos fugaremos juntos cogidos de la mano.
El servico cuesta 500 euro, pero por codo golpe que me lleve (puñetazos, patadas...) subirá 50 euros.
Apto para mujeres como para hombres. Se que puede parecer una broma, pero no los es.” (via El Hormiguero, shared by Antena 3; the listing has since been deleted)
In English, it reads:
"If you don't want to get married but you don't know how to say no, don't worry: I'll oppose your union.
You just have to tell me the time, date, and place. I will appear in the middle of the ceremony saying that I am the great love of your life, and we will elope together holding hands.
The service costs 500 euros, but for every elbow hit (punches, kicks...), it will go up to 50 euros.
Suitable for women and men. I know it may seem like a joke, but it's not.”
So what do you think? For better or worse, this is an interesting answer to the question, ‘what happens when someone objects at a wedding?’
If you’re a wedding destroyer like Ernesto, you get paid!
