This unique wedding ceremony script begins just like an ordinary toast…
From the script:
“Hi, everyone! Can I get your attention for a minute? I’d like to make a toast! A toast about love and about family. Raise a glass!”
Then comes the exciting reveal – your guests aren’t just joining you for a dinner party or fun family gathering…
They’re guests at your wedding ceremony! Surprise!
After the officiant-in-disguise has revealed their secret identity and the true purpose of the day, it’s time to call the happy couple up to the front amidst cheers and impromptu photos.
Need a wedding officiant? Ask a friend or relative to get ordained online with AMM to officiate your ceremony! AMM ordains people of all faiths and backgrounds. Ordination with AMM is always free. Get ordained with AMM here.
This cute start is followed by a sweet exchange of ‘I do’s during a simple declaration of intent, a reading of written wedding vows, and an exchange of wedding rings.
The officiant will bring the ceremony full circle with a few closing words and pronouncement of marriage, before the party continues – filled with laughter and love.
“Most of you didn’t know you’d be at a wedding tonight – but [Partner A] and [Partner B] have known they were meant for each other since that first date [number of months/years] years ago.
They didn’t know what life together would look like, but they knew however things turned out, they were better side by side.
[Partner A] and [Partner B], hold onto the love between you. Nurture it, explore it, revel in it. But never take it for granted. Your love is a gift, cherish it always.
May all of life’s surprises be as joyful as this one, and enjoyed in such good company!”
This officiant script is perfect for a surprise wedding or April Fool’s Day elopement, officiated by a friend or relative.
It’s nonreligious, lighthearted, and unique. Personalize this script with details from the couple’s love story, a special reading, a moment of silence for lost loved ones, a group prayer, unity ceremony, or other creative elements.
