Can’t choose just one special person to officiate your wedding ceremony?
Ask TWO wedding officiants to marry you, instead!
Asking two close friends or family members to co-officiate your ceremony is a creative and popular way to share your wedding day with the people who mean the most to you.
This sweet and simple wedding script includes speaking parts for two wedding officiants, as well as a heartwarming moment of remembrance for lost or absent loved ones, suggestions for a wedding reading, joint ‘We do!’ style wedding vows, a heartfelt charge to the couple, and everything else you’ll need for a memorable and legal marriage ceremony.
(Welcome & Invocation)
Officiant A to Guests:
“Welcome, all! This is indeed a joyous occasion, as we prepare to witness and celebrate the marriage of (Partner A) and (Partner B). Though all of us gathered here have known them in different ways and through different parts of their lives, we have this in common: we hold them as two distinct and beloved individuals, and we rejoice that they have found and committed to one another.
Officiant B to Guests:
Whatever our relationship to (Partner B) and (Partner A), we honor both their individual paths and the fact that they have thrown their lots in together—that they stand before us, pledging to travel together on the wondrous, challenging, unknowable road before them.
Your presence allows them to promise this to one another in the smiling presence of those who are dearest and most important to them.”
This original wedding script was written by professional officiant AMM Minister Dan Henkel. Dan has over 25 years of experience marrying couples and has co-officiated many weddings with his wife and partner, Beth Henkel. See all original wedding scripts by Officiant Dan Henkel here.
