A bride and groom laugh together during the wedding ceremony as the officiant reads from the script, holding hands joyfully as they smile at each other

Marriage is a serious matter, but your wedding ceremony doesn’t have to be!

To help you plan a lighthearted and humorous wedding ceremony that celebrates your love of laughter and appreciation for friends and family, we’ve added a new wedding ceremony script to our Script Library.

We’ve added a new sample script to our library!

Head here:

A Funny Wedding Ceremony Script with Simple Unity Ritual

During the invocation, you’ll share personal stories and fun memories about the couple that get friends and family members invested in the magic of the day -- and cracking a smile at how far these newlyweds have come for love!

This funny wedding officiant speech sets the mood, and is easy to personalize with unique details from a couple’s relationship, or even a few jokes

Classic wedding vows ensure this ceremony feels authentic and heartfelt, grounded in devotion and commitment, and are followed by a loving ring exchange that speaks from the heart.

This lighthearted wedding script includes an optional unity ceremony ritual that’s easy to personalize. In our version, the couple mixes chocolate sauce with milk, symbolizing that they’re better than ever when they’re together.

From the script:
“They’re like chips and guacamole, peanut butter and jelly, chocolate sauce and milk… You just can’t have one without the other! Once you put ‘em together, you can’t take ‘em apart. They’re better together and bonded for life.”

Get creative and substitute chocolate and peanut butter, salt and pepper, a sand ceremony, a wine blending ceremony, or any other unity ritual to make this script your own.

This short, simple, funny wedding script is a great starting place for your own ceremony. Use the template as is, or mix and match your favorite sections to create a custom experience!
