Washtenaw Co. now offering walk-in marriage license services

After a long year of pandemic ‘pivots’ and frequent adjustments, the Washtenaw County Clerk/Register of Deeds Office is once again offering walk-in availability for marriage licenses and other services. 

This return to almost-normal means that couples in the Ann Arbor area will have multiple options when applying for and purchasing a marriage license --  including virtual appointments over video-conference, and in-person visits.

To apply for a marriage license, couples should come prepared with photocopies or originals of the following pieces of identification: 

• Unexpired driver’s license, state-issued identification card, or Washtenaw County ID Card with correct address; 
• Birth certificate (doesn’t need to be a certified copy),
• Social Security Card (if card isn’t available, you must know the number). If you don’t have a social security number, you must apply in-person.
