Boosie BadAzz does…
The Louisiana rapper got ordained online this week, announcing his new status as an ordained minister via social media, saying:
“If you want Boosie to marry you, let me know.
If you want Boosie to marry you, I got my muthaf*ckin’ license. If you want Boosie to marry you, y’all holla at me. This my new thing. If you want me to marry you, holla at me. Big boss sh*t. I’m marrying couples now. $75 to $100K. I’m marrying couples now. It’s official. I’m certified.” (via @theshaderoom)
This is, of course, an outrageous amount of money.
Wedding boom or not, we don’t know many couples who could pay this much for Boosie’s services (even if there wasn't a pandemic going on). And it doesn't sound like he's had an takers yet.
The average price for a wedding officiant in 2022 will be about $600, according to Wedding Forward – with first time officiants expected to charge a smaller fee while they gain experience.
Still, we hope Boosie inspires other people to get ordained online and start marrying people... for a reasonable fee.
It’s good to see celebrities spreading love – Cardi B got ordained to officiate a same-sex wedding on her show back in October (with the help of Raven-Symoné). Not to mention Adele, Harry Styles, and Lisa Vanderpump (ordained with AMM in 2014) have all performed a wedding or two, including many within the LGBTQ+ community. Heck, even Stephen Colbert was ordained by American Marriage Ministries back in 2013.
