MARRIAGE OFFICIANT LICENSE REQUIREMENTS BY STATE

Each State has its own marriage officiant licensing laws. In some states all marriage officiants are required to register with the local State Government. Below are the States and Territories requiring ministers to apply for their marriage officiant license with the State Government before performing marriage.

How long does an officiant license last?

Your marriage officiant license through AMM is good for life. There is no expiration or renewals with an AMM ordination. Once you are ordained as an AMM marriage officiant you do not have to do anything further to maintain your ordination with us.

If at any point you wish to renounce your ordination, simply contact us and we will be happy to oblige.

Keep in mind that in addition to being ordained as a marriage officiant, you may be required to obtain further officiant licensing through the State or Territory where you will be performing marriage.

Do I have to be "Religious" to apply for my marriage officiant license through AMM?

You do not have to consider yourself a conventionally "Religious" person to get ordained with AMM. Becoming a minister with the AMM does not require you to hold any particular spiritual belief. We only ask that you agree to our organization's three tenets, which are listed on our ordination application.
