American Marriage Ministries just ordained our 800,000th minister!

Over the weekend, a woman in South Carolina clicked the Ordain Me! button on our Get Ordained page and became the 800,000th minister to join AMM! 

 

Shanice joins 799,999 other ministers across the country and around the world who were ordained online with AMM -- to officiate weddings for friends and family, to offer premarital counseling and coaching, to perform baptisms and blessings, or to become professional wedding officiants!

 

This year feels special to us. There are promising signs that the COVID-19 pandemic is slowing down, and more opportunities for families and friends to gather together safely again. We’ve missed our usual routines and quality time with those we love, and we know you have, too.

 

We’re incredibly grateful for the hard work our community has done over the past year and a half, choosing love in a time of unimaginable difficulty. 

 

So to celebrate this big milestone, we raise a toast to all the wedding professionals, friends, and family members who stepped in, stepped up, and held it down for couples during the pandemic. They’re lucky to have you! We’re lucky to have you, too! 

 

As we welcome Shanice and other new ministers into our community, our commitment remains: To offer the most robust ordination available online, backed up by real-world advocacy and training to ensure that people ordained by American Marriage Ministries can confidently officiate legal, memorable, and lasting marriages. 
 
We’ll also keep offering expert insight on planning and performing ceremonies on our American Weddings blog, adding new ceremony scripts and templates to our library, updating our state weddings index with changes to state marriage laws, and continue to provide step-by-step training resources for our first time officiants.

 

When you get ordained by AMM, you gain the same legal standing as the head-pastor of a megachurch like Joel Osteen or Billy Graham, because that’s a right that’s enshrined in our constitution. You also get our full support as you perform marriages and other rites for friends, family, and members of your community.
