I genuinely love people. I became an officiant when some gay friends asked me to. That wedding was one of the most tender, joyful, honest, touching experiences I have ever had. Like the room was swimming in love--not a dry eye in the place. It was so fun, and so natural for me, that I decided I to make myself available to officiate for others to create the unique, joyful event a wedding ceremony should be. It doesn't have to be long and boring. I grew up conservative, so I understand the pain many homosexuals have had coming out to their religious friends. Weddings are often religious, but I'm comfortable making it as religious or not religious as you want! I'm no professional counselor, but I do deeply care about people and relationships, and would do my best to get to know you, ask you some thought-provoking questions, and encourage you toward a healthy marriage. I've been married for 11 years and it's not always easy, so I will not give you platitudes or cheesy formulas. I'm also great at wedding planning--I've done everything except the food! So I'm also available to hire for decorating and coordinating, as a separate job from officiating.
