While you have been waiting for your wedding to come, your day has been waiting for you. Your wedding is an event that comes once in a lifetime; so, it should be celebrated! I am the Vice President of Kappa Omega Omicron, and I am an ordained minister. My leading roles in this production of my life include mother, fiancé, life coach, leader, mentor, daughter, friend, philanthropist, lesbian, and former Army soldier. I became an ordained minister in August 2009 in Boston, MA; and, I began performing wedding ceremonies in January 2010. When I first began performing ceremonies, less than 10% of the states allowed same-sex marriage. As the marriage equality fight began to grow, I watched as each state lifted their same-sex marriage bans. In May 2014, I was newly engaged and decided it was time to relocate back home to Oklahoma City. While I loved coming home with my family, I really missed working with couples in planning their ceremonies, preparing for their newly married lives, and just offering encouragement during those trying moments all couples have. On October 6, the Oklahoma same-sex marriage ban was lifted and I remember the rush of emotions that I felt as I heard my fiancé say those words 'It is legal. Let's get married. We have been waiting for this.? Even though we were engaged, my fiancé didn't want to get married until it would be legal in our home state. I thought to myself, yes, we have been waiting. That is how the idea of We Have Been Waiting Officiant Services was born. My focus at We Have Been Waiting Officiant Services is to help you design a ceremony as unique as your relationship. Your vows are the most important part of your entire wedding; and, I want to help you to find your voice as a couple.
