“Therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate.” Mark 10:9
Processional & Welcome
Please rise & join me in welcoming our bride.
Who brings this woman to be married to this man?
Beloved family & honored guests,
Thank you for joining us on this very special day to witness &
celebrate as Kyle & Shelby become husband & wife!
Before you are all seated, please join me in a prayer of thanksgiving, extending your hands toward Kyle & Shelby to offer your own whispered prayers for their marriage.
Thank You Father for family, for faith & especially today for Kyle & Shelby who have come to receive Your blessing as they enter into the covenant of marriage.
May theirs be a union that brings You glory & honor just as the original covenant with Abraham in Genesis 17. And God said, “I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me & you & your descendants after you for the generations, to be your God & the God of your descendants after you.” In Jesus Name we pray. Amen
Kyle & Shelby, Welcome to your Wedding Day!
Take a moment to soak up the treasure of this day…the beauty of a bride, the immense love of her groom, the family & friends who have gathered to witness today & will walk
alongside the two of you in the journey of your marriage.
Always remember this moment & the beauty of your love for one another!
On July 5, 1994 Kyle Christopher Schulz was born, & 8 days later Shelby Tristin Vert entered the world. Today, we’re going back to the beginning for a message on God’s confidence & love for man & woman. In the beginning God created a man.
The story of their friendship is recorded in Genesis 2:18-24
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals & all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them & whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky & all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep & while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribs & then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man & He brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones & flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman’ for she was taken out of man”
Today, Kyle let’s take note of God’s confidence in man & in you!
God brought man all of His precious creations & trusted him to name each of them. God loved man so much that He refused to leave him alone on the journey. God created a helpmate from man’s very body, allowed man to name her & He now trusts this man to protect the very breath of her life.
Shelby, let’s appreciate God’s Love for woman & His love for you!
God designs her as the perfect helpmate for man just as you will be the perfect helpmate for Kyle. God creates her unlike any of the animals, they came from the dust of the ground; she is formed from the very rib God takes from man…the rib cage has three important functions: protection, support and breathing
Without our ribs… the heart, lungs & other vital organs are left unprotected. Without the framework & support of the ribs, the strength of our muscles is useless. And without the ribcage, we don’t breathe! The part God took from man’s body & with which He formed woman says everything. The two of you are now called to follow their example:
To protect, support & breathe as one, (protect one another…support one another…breathe together as one) for God said, When united with man, woman is enough for him to leave his father & mother & begin his own journey in life!
Today, the two of you begin that journey.
Last night, for the very last time, the two of you went to bed as single individuals.
Tonight & every night forward may “seem” like last night; But beginning tonight, “Everything is different!” Tonight Kyle, you will be “a husband” & Shelby, you will be
“his wife” Tonight the two of you rest in the immeasurable blessing of
God’s covenant of marriage as two become one!
Personal Wedding Vows
Kyle & Shelby have written personal vows
that will be shared with one another now…tissues please
Blessing of the Rings
Do you have rings to serve as a visible reminder to yourselves & the world of the promises you have made to one another? Father, bless these rings, make them so much more than the material from which they were created. Give them life with a blessing of ‘peace & hope’ as Kyle & Shelby build this new life together… give them ‘courage & strength’ as they face the challenging seasons & give them ‘kindness, grace & unfailing love’ as they celebrate the journey ahead!
Kyle & Shelby, these rings are the last & most important gift
you will give to one another before becoming husband & wife.
They are not only symbols for the two of you but for a generation who have forgotten the treasure of marriage. Today, you accept the invitation, the challenge, the blessing
that is the‘two of you’ & the big beautiful palette that will be your life!
Go out & paint the most amazing masterpiece of marriage, love, courage, hope, and faith…because a great cloud of witnesses is watching!
You awoke this morning as two,
Mr. Schulz & Ms. Vert…are you ready to become one?
Shelby, is it your desire that Kyle be your lawfully wedded husband?
I, Shelby, take you, Kyle, to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, as long as we both shall live.
