"I was with The Bryan Fire Department for 36 plus years. I rose to the rank of Captain before I retired. I helped train both of them and was their officer for all of their careers till I retired. They both showed up at my house and wanted to know if I could marry them. They said I had taken good care of them in the fire service and that I would be their choice to marry them. I was honored and scared all at the same time. In the end Covid 19 took its toll on the ceremony. We had to change venues and even the state for the wedding. It was a beautiful day with a small group of family and friends. I was so very honored to be a part of their lives . "

Dearly Beloved and Honored Guests,
We are gathered here together to join Jared Thomas McCann and Kara Ray Lynn Bok in the spiritual union of marriage. If any one can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their piece.
This contract is not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities. Please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home.
Jared and Kara will now share their vows.
*(Vows)*
Do you Jared take Kara to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?
*(Wait for Confirmation)*

Jared and Kara will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.
*(Ring Exchange)*
Jared, please take the ring you have selected for Kara. As you place it on her finger, repeat after me. With this ring I thee wed.
Kara, please take the ring you have selected for Jared. As you place it on his finger, repeat after me. With this ring I thee wed.
By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of Indiana I now pronounce you husband and wife!
Before you may kiss the bride you both need to pass the test and tie the knot on the board.
Today, Jared and Kara have chosen to braid three strands together into a single cord. Each strand has a significant meaning.
The gold (1st) strand represents God and His majesty.
The purple (2nd) strand represents the groom and his life.
The white (3rd) strand represents the bride and her life.
In braiding these three strands together, Jared and Kara have demonstrated that their marriage is more than a joining of two lives together. It is a unity with God as well. They have chosen to allow God to be at the center of their marriage, woven into every aspect of it.
As Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 reads, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Ok you passed you may kiss your bride.
Jared and Kara turn and face the crowd.
I now have the pleasure of introducing to you for the first time
Mr. and Mrs. Jared McCann
