We are gathered today to join Leah Harrel and Mitchel Carter Jr. in the union of marriage.

Usually this is the point in the ceremony where we talk about the wedding bands being a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end. But let’s be real, we all know rings have a beginning. Rock is dug up from the earth, metal is liquefied in a furnace at a thousand degrees, then molded, cooled and polished. Something beautiful is made from raw elements just like love. It is hot, dirty work that comes from humble beginnings made by imperfect beings. This ring is your promises to accept each other’s imperfections and recognize your beauty.

Dear Lord,

We gather before you to pray for Mitch and Leah’s beautiful new beginnings. We pray that you strengthen their hearts and their love for one another, as they walk through each day as one. Thank you for filling the room with love and support of their marriage and bless the food that has been prepared to celebrate this new chapter.
