Gabby Melton And Groom’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

Brian Allshouse and Gabrielle Melton wedding ceremony

9/25/2021

Opening:

Who gives this woman to be married to this man? Dad will say, her mother & I do.

We are gathered here today in the loving hand of God, and in the presence of friends and family, to celebrate one of life’s greatest moments. We are here to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love, and to add our best wishes and blessings to the words that will unite Brian and Gabrielle in holy matrimony.

Brian and Gabrielle, marriage is the most important of all earthly relationships. It should be entered into reverently, thoughtfully, and with full understanding of its sacred nature. Your marriage must stand by the strength of your love and the power of faith in each other and in God.

Who could have predicted that Brian and Gabrielle would end up together? One a farmer, now a landscaper; the other a nurse; they met in a bar.

God put them in front of each other often, until finally they understood God's message.

They are true loving friends; that is obvious to you, who have known them so long. Even for me, (I’ve just recently met Brian), their undying love for each other is evident. They make decisions with each other in mind. They are loyal, tough, kindhearted, encouraging, resilient, and loving.

Brian and Gabrielle, please remember that love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home. You have already built that foundation.

Bible Passage

John 47-12

Dear friends,

Let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God- for God is love.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love has been brought to full expression through us.

VOWS

“Repeat after me”

I, Brian, take you Gabrielle, to be my wife, my partner in life, my one true love. I cherish our friendship today, tomorrow, and forever. I trust you and honor you. I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully, through the best and the worst. Through the difficult and the easy. Whatever may come, I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold, so I give you my life to keep. So help me God.

I Gabrielle, take you Brian, to be my husband, my partner in life, my one true love. I cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I trust you and honor you. I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully through the best and the worst. Through the difficult and the easy. Whatever may come, I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold, so I give you my life to keep. So help me God.

Bible passage 2:

I would like paraphrase from St. Paul to the Corinthians:

"You are love, thus, you are patient, you are kind. You do not envy, you do not boast, and you are not proud.

You do not dishonor others, you are not self-seeking, you are not easily angered, you keep no record of

wrongs. You do not delight in evil, but rejoice with the truth. You always protect, you always trust, you

always hope, you always persevere."

I Do’s

Brian, do you take Gabrielle to be your wife? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her, forsaking all others and holding only unto her forever more? “I do.”

Gabrielle, do you take Brian to be your husband? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him, forsaking all others and holding only unto him forever more? “I do.”

The ring is a symbol of the unbroken circle of love. Love freely given has no beginning and no end. May these rings always remind you of the vows you have taken.

Ring exchange (repeat after me)

I Brian, take you, Gabrielle, to be my wife. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, in joy and sorrow, and I promise my love to you. With this ring, I take you as my wife, for as long as we both shall live.

I Gabrielle, take you, Brian to be my husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, in joy and sorrow, and I promise my love to you. With this ring, I take you as my husband, for as long as we both shall live.

Closing Prayer

Bless this marriage, O God, as Brian and Gabrielle begin their journey down the road of life together. We don’t know what lies ahead, for the road turns and bends. Help them to make the best out of whatever comes their way.

Help them to continue to enjoy each other as they do now. Help them to realize that nothing; no one, is perfect, and to look for the good in all things and all people, including themselves.

Help them to learn from each other and to help each other to grow mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Help them to create for their children a peaceful, stable home of love as a foundation on which they can build their lives.

But most of all, dear God, help them to keep lit the torch of love that they now share, so that by their loving example, they may pass on the light of love to their children and their children’s children.

And as is said in Psalm 128:

1 Blessed are all who fear the LORD,

who walk in obedience to him.

2 You will eat the fruit of your labor;

blessings and prosperity will be yours.

3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine

within your house;

your children will be like olive shoots

around your table.

4 Yes, this will be the blessing

for the man who fears the LORD.

5 May the LORD bless you from Zion;

may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem

all the days of your life.

6 May you live to see your children’s children—

peace be on Israel.

By the power vested in me through the State of Maryland, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Brian and Gabrielle, you may kiss.

I have the distinct honor to introduce, for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Tyler Allshouse!
