On behalf of Kimberly and Byron, I would like to welcome everyone. And so that we are all present in our short time together, please turn off or silence all phones.
We have been invited here today to witness the marriage of Kimberly and Byron. In the years they’ve been together, their love has grown and matured, and they have decided to continue their journey as husband and wife.
And we, their community of family and friends, by our steadfast care, respect, and love, can support their marriage.
Will you who are present here today surround Kimberly and Byron in love, Offering them the joys of your friendship, and supporting them in their marriage? If so, say we will.
Let us Pray - God, we ask for your blessings upon this man and this woman, as we celebrate this momentous occasion in their lives. Grant them happiness and contentment as they establish their new home, and explore the depths of their love for one another and for you. Bless their families and friends and the relationships, which have supported, strengthened and sustained them throughout their lives. And help them to always look into their hearts and remember the love that brought them here today. Amen
Charge –Marriage is an honorable estate not to be entered into lightly but thoughtfully and reverently. Your marriage is an act of faith. It must not be based on the vain hope of what the other will do or will not do, might become or might not become. It must be based on the firm belief in your own individual worth and that of the other. Your pledge today is an expression of your devotion. The words spoken in this ceremony will validate your marriage only if your love and commitment to one another are strong enough to sustain it.
Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
Declaration of intent – Do you Byron/Kimberly take Kimberly/Byron to be your lawfully wedded husband/wife, promising to love and respect her/him, to be a companion to him/her for better or worse, in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, to always give to him/her your unwavering support and above all else, the freedom to be Groom/Bride as long as you both shall live?
*Vows* – I understand that you have written your own vows – Byron you may begin.
May I have the Rings-
Lord, please bless these rings that Kimberly and Byron are about to exchange. May these rings forever remind them of their covenant with one another, as well as the circle of love they have publicly created here today. May their compassion and kindness for one another always be like these rings, with no beginning and no end. May these rings always belong to their hands, and their love always belong in each other’s hearts. Amen
Exchange Rings – _____please place this ring on _____ finger and repeat after me: I ____ give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness, with all that I have and all that I am. With this ring I thee wed.
As you wear these rings, they will speak to the community you live in, the people you work with, and strangers you run across. They mark the beginning of your journey together. A symbol of love never ending. It is the seal of the vows you have just taken 2 luv each other without end.
Benediction – Father, We pray that Your love will be a shield for Byron and Kimberly. May their love continue through life and finally be blended into eternal life. And grant that all married persons who have witnessed these vows, find their lives strengthened and their loyalties confirmed. In Jesus’ name we pray - Amen.
