* Family, friends, honored guest we are gathered here ‪this evening‬  to join This man and woman in holy marriage which is blessed by our lord and governed by Gods commandments and is to be held in high honor by all people therefore it is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly but reverently discretely and in awe of God.

* Dalton and Rebecca, this is YOUR DAY! We very grateful that you have allowed us to share in it.  And I hope that every person here will help this couple be all that God intends for them to be as the years go by.

        LETS PAUSE FOR A MOMENT TO ASK GODS BLESSING

* Thank you Father God for this beautiful evening, for those who have gathered to celebrate and witness this special occasion, the union of Dalton and Rebecca in holy matrimony. Father we asked that you bless this ceremony, bless Dalton and Rebecca as they not only join hands but also their hearts as husband and wife.

* As this couple begins their lives together on their wedding day, I pray that their hearts will unite as one with You in their desire to make You the center. May this day be the start of something beautiful, a celebration unlike any other. We ask these things in the wonderful name of Jesus!

        THERE IS ONE PASSAGE IN SCRIPTURE WHICH GOD TELLS US       

         Infatically  WHAT LOVE IS AND WHAT IT ISN’T SO THAT WE         

         CAN LEARN TO LOVE AS HE LOVES: AND THAT SCRIPTURE IS

* ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13

* “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

* In this passage Paul names off some things that people put their confidence in. He talks about some of the things that people do to earn gods favor and please him. He talks of speaking in tongues OF MEN AND OF ANGLES and in Paul’s time that was kind of a sign that you have arrived spiritually. He talks about prophecy, if I could tell u what your future was going to be that would be great wouldn’t it- (example) but even that is nothing without love. He talks about faith, faith is what Jesus said could move mountains yet even faith without love is nothing.

* Giving all that u have to the poor is kind of the ultimate act of sacrifice second only to giving your life and becoming a martyr.

* So all of these things if done should impress god, but he says without love these are essentially nothing.

* So they lead us to the idea that what god wants really most of all is for us to learn to love as he loves us. Fact of the matter is we try to do things to make god love us but he already does.

* If I could tell you guys anything today rest in the fact that god loves you, no matter what u do he will always love u.

* It Doesn’t matter if you walk away from him,  

* Or if you choose not to obey him, there will be bad days, he will always love u.

* There are days when we are disobedient, he loves us anyway.

* There are days when we forget him all together, he loves us anyway. He will always love u. And I want u to learn from his example.

      There will be days when each of you doesn’t necessarily do what                                                           the other would prefer Love them anyway

There will be days when you may feel your partner is not loving you back Love them anyway 

There may be days where you may even feel forgotten to some degree by your partner but Love them anyway 

Fact of the matter is things change feelings change but love remains the same. Your circumstances in life may change....you could end up poor you could end up rich, you  could end up with one child ten children who knows. There’s lots of things that can change throughout your lives but the fact remains that love remains the same. 

Your outward appearance will certainly change over time, I’m a testimony to that (case and point) I have less hair to wash and more face to scrub.

I hate to break this to you Rebecca but some day he will not be the handsome stud that you see before you today.

Things change but it is our prayer that your love never will change.

I want you to learn to be the kind of couple that loves one another anyway no matter what the other does and if you do that, I believe you are on the way to a life filled with joy, contentment and peace and faithfulness to God and each other.

As you prepare to take your vows you have chosen to take these vows in the presence of God and have called upon him to be a witness to them.

You also take these vows in the presence of your marriage partner who will trust you for the rest of your life to hold true to them

Dalton and Rebecca are about to do something special to symbolize their love for each other by literally tying the knot.”

Each of these ropes represents your past, your own individual and separate lives before today. As you intertwine your ropes, you are joining your two lives into one, representing the present. The finished knot symbolizes your future, and how your love and marriage will continue to be strong.
