Welcome Family, friends, and loved ones. We are gathered here this evening to celebrate the wedding of D’Andre and Alicia.
On behalf of the happy couple, I would like to thank you all for being here this evening. For taking the time and making the journey, and for all the effort that it takes—not only to be a part of this day, but to be a part of each other’s lives.
Today is a celebration. A celebration of love, of commitment, of friendship, of family, and of two people who are in it for forever.
Today we have come together to witness the joining of these two lives. For them, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary has happened. They met each other, fell in love and are finalizing it with their wedding. A good marriage must be created. It is never being too old to hold hands. It’s remembering to say I love you every day and it is not just marrying the right person, it’s being the right partner.
Today is also a celebration for the rest of us, for it is a pleasure for us to see love in bloom, and to participate in the union of two people so delightfully suited to one another. And to have a couple of cocktails in the process.
D’Andre and Alicia the promise, which you are about to make with each other, is meant to be a beautiful and sacred expression of your love for each other. As you pledge your vows to each other, and as you commit your lives to each other, we ask that you do so in all seriousness, and yet with a deep sense of joy, with deep conviction that you are committing yourselves to a dynamic growing relationship of trust, mutual support and caring love.
To D’Andre: Will you, D’Andre have Alicia to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort and keep her, and forsaking all others, remaining true to her as long as you both shall live?”
D’Andre: I will
To Alicia: Will you, Alicia have D’Andre to be your Husband? Will you love him, comfort and keep him, and forsaking all others, remaining true to him as long as you both shall live?”
Alicia: I will
Vows:
Now that you have declared your intentions, I invite you to share your vows with each other.
D’Andre please repeat after me:
Alicia, I have chosen you--- alone from the entire world ----to be my wedded wife.
To have and to hold---- from this day forward
For better, for worse
For richer, for poorer
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish----- ‘til death do us part.
Alicia please repeat after me:
D’Andre I have chosen you---- alone from the entire world----- to be my beloved husband
To have and to hold---- from this day forward
For better, for worse
For richer, for poorer
In sickness and in health,
To love and to cherish -----‘til death do us part.
Exchange of rings:
Amber: May we please have the rings
These rings have no beginning and no end. They set forth the eternal nature of real love. They will represent the love and trust that Alicia and D”Andre promise to each other this day.
Alicia will you take this ring and place it upon D’Andre’s finger, and as you do, repeat after me:
I give you this ring.
As I give you myself,
With love and affection
Wear it in peace always
D’Andre will you take this ring and place it upon Alicia’s finger, and as you do, repeat after me:
I give you this ring,
As I give you myself
With love and affection
Wear it in peace always
D’Andre and Alicia, you have come here today of your own free will and in the presence of family and friends. You have declared your love and commitment to each other. You have given and received a ring as a symbol of your promises. By the power of your love and commitment to each other, and by the power vested in me by the state of Nevada, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
D’Andre you may kiss your bride
