Crystal and Jay’s Wedding Script

*(Groom and Groomsman are already standing by Officiant)

*(Bridesmaid walks, then ring barrier walks, they line up in order by Officiant)

*(Bride comes in)

*(Bride, Groom, and father stand facing Officiant)

Officiant: We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life’s greatest moments, and to cherish the words which shall unite Crystal and Jay in marriage. Family and friends, feel free to take pictures during the ceremony and reception.

Officiant: Who gives Crystal away?

*{Father says "I give her away". Father sits down)

*(Bride and Groom turn to face each other)

Officiant: Marriage is the promise between two people who love each other, and who trust in that love, who honor each other as individuals, and who choose to spend the rest of their lives together.

Officiant: This ceremony will not create a relationship that does not already exist between you. It is a symbol of how far you have come and how you will continue to grow stronger as individuals and as partners. No matter what challenges you face, you now face them together, and no matter how much you succeed, you now succeed together. The love between you joins you now as one. Please remember that love, loyalty, communication, trust, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring marriage.

*(Unity Sand)

Officiant: Crystal and Jay, to symbolize the unity of this ceremony the two bottles of sand will symbolize your separate lives before you found each other. They symbolize your separate friends, family, and choices.

*(Bride and Groom walk to table for sand)

Officiant: Today, both of you will seal your bond by blending these two individual bottles together. Once the sand is blended together, it cannot be separated. In the words of the poet William Blake, together may you....See a world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wild flower. Hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour.

*(Bride and Groom turn to face each other in front of Officiant)

Officiant: Do you Crystal take Jay to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?

Say "l Do".

*(Wait for Confirmation)*

Officiant: Do you Jay take Crystal to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?

Say "l Do".

*(Wait for Confirmation)*

Officiant: Crystal and Jay will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment.

Officiant: As an honor and privilege, by the authority vested in me and the State of Ohio, I now pronounce you husband and wife!

Officiant: You may kiss your bride!
