We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments, The Joining of 2 hearts of our dear friends, Trang and William.
After you asked me to be your officiant, I was excited and honored to be a part of your special day.
The years of friendship replayed in my head and the magic I witnessed, I can say with certainty that they did not enter this partnership lightly but thoughtfully and seriously, with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities to build a loving home together. Love, loyalty, and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home, a home they have started to build together with their two furry children and one hedgehog. The growth through this partnership has already shown with each heart becoming stronger, wiser and more loving.
Today, you begin a new chapter in your life, no longer the ABG and ABB we once knew, but as a married couple. To support you on this journey together, it is important to remember that a good marriage must be created through a partnership and understanding of one another. Where the little things are the big things. It is standing together and facing any obstacle the world gives you. Speaking words of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow but still rely on the other. It is remembering to say "I love you" and "I'm sorry". It is having the ability to forgive and forget. It is not only marrying the right person, it is being the right partner.
Trang and William, you have come here today because you believe that by being together your lives will be better and more fulfilling than they would be apart.
It is also a celebration for the rest of us, for it is a pleasure for us to see love in bloom, and to participate in the union of two people so delightfully suited for one another. And to have a couple of cocktails in the process. (pause)
Now, Trang and William have written their own vows that they would like to share. (start with Will then Trang)
*(Vows)*
(I Do's)
William do you take Trang to be your lawfully wedded Wife? ("I do")
Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect her, and be faithful to her? ("I do")
Do you promise to take out the trash and wash the dishes, even your utensils? ("I do")
Do you promise to cook more than mac n cheese for dinner? ("I do")
And do you promise to love her even when she is cranky? ("I do")
Trang do you take William to be your lawfully wedded Husband? ("I do")
Do you promise to love, honor, cherish and protect him, and be faithful to him? ("I do")
Do you Promise not to whine at him when he forgets to take out the trash or pick up his clothes from the floor, especially his socks? ("I do")
Do you promise to turn off the lights of the rooms you leave and close the cabinets you use?
And do you promise to love him after he has been out all night with the boys? ("I do")
(Rings)
Trang Ngo and William Nguyen will now exchange rings as a symbol of their love and commitment. There are 3 rings of marriage. The wedding ring, the engagement ring, and the suffering. We hope the latter can be held to a minimum.
Will, Please repeat after me:
I, William Nguyen, give to you, Trang, this ring as a symbol of my commitment to love, honor, and respect you today, tomorrow, and all the days to come.
Tran, Please repeat after me:
I, Trang Ngo, give to you, William, this ring as a symbol of my commitment to love, honor, and respect you today, tomorrow, and all the days to come.
*(Ring Exchange)*
By the authority vested in me by American Marriage Ministries and the State of California I now pronounce you wife and husband! You may now kiss the bride!
It is with great honor and joy, I present to you Mr. and Mrs. William Nguyen.
