- Processional:
Wedding party enters
- Invocation:
Hey there everyone! I'm so excited that we get to celebrate the beginning of September with such a happy occasion. My name is Kelli, and yes I promise you I am an ordained minister! I'm a single mother, but I like to help couples start the next step in their journey, that we call life, by being there for them on one of the most important day of their lives! (Pause)
Today it's my great pleasure to join together Holly Rene Tackett and Joseph Yancy Fryman.
But first I'd like to talk to you about marriage
To start, a quote by Nicholas Sparks, one of Holly's favorite author's.
“Marriage is about becoming a team. You're going to spend the rest of your life learning about each other, and every now and then, things blow up. But the beauty of marriage is that if you picked the right person and you both love each other, you'll always figure out a way to get through it”
To add a little bit of Jo into this, I think Spiderman said it best, "With great power, comes great responsibility."
That's what marriage is...a responsibility, to never give up on one another, and to, "Always figure out a way to get through it."
- Declaration of Intent:
Now I have a question for the two of you?
Will you both have each other? Through your daughter's first school play to taking a moment away from your own personal interests to try something that the other loves? If you agree please say I do.
(Pause for response)
This is the part where if anyone objects to this union, they are to say so now. Though I think these two would be hurt if you did.
- Vows and Rings Exchange
Now is the time for the vows and exchanging of rings. The rings please.
Holly and Jo have written their own vows. The groom will go first, and then the bride. You may place your ring on the others finger once you have finished your vows.
Jo:
"Holly,
There is nothing that I could ever say to you that can express how much you mean to me. Though we don’t always agree, I know that you always care about what I have to say. When we argue, I know that you’ll always still love me when we’re done, and I know that every single day with you, is better than every day without you. I promise that as long as I live, I will spend every day being the best man that I can be for you, and the best father to our baby girl."
Holly:
"Joe,
I never would have thought when I walked into Kroger that I would meet my future husband. From the day you asked if were a “thing” to the day we found out we were having a baby I knew that you were the guy I would spend the rest of my life with. Yes, we have had our Ups and downs but have always overcome them together and will continue to do so. So today in front of you our friends and our family I take you to be my partner. And I promise to never interrupt during a video game. I promise to always make sure your pepsi cup is full and not watered down. I promise to respect you as an equal and to recognize that your interest desires and needs are important as mine. I promise to laugh with you when times are good and endure with you when they are bad. I can’t wait to grow old together, getting to know the man you will become and falling in love a little more every day."
- Pronouncement:
And now, by the power vested in me by the state of Indiana, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride!
- Recessional:
It's my honor to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Fryman!
