Juan Madrigal And Crystal Madrigal’s Renewal Of Vows Wedding Ceremony Script

Please be seated. Before we begin, let us bow our heads in prayer.

(Prayer) O’ God, who consecrated the bond of Marriage by so great a mystery that in the wedding covenant you foreshadow the Sacrament of Christ and his Church, grant, we pray, to these your servants, that what they receive in faith they may live out in deeds. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

(Opening) Dearly Beloved and family and friends, it is my honor and privilege to welcome you all to the renewal of Holy Matrimonial Vows of Juan and Crystal. Today we come together to celebrate and rejoice as these two beautiful people continue in Holy Matrimony before God and His servants.

(Old Testament Reading Ruth 1:16-17) A reading from the Book of Ruth 1:16-17. Wherever you go, I will go. Wherever you live, I will live. Your People shall be my people and your God will be my God too. Wherever you die, I will die and there I will be buried beside you. We shall be together forever and our love will be the gift of God. The Word of the Lord

(Declaration of Intent) Juan and Crystal, have you come here to reaffirm your Marriage without coercion, freely and wholeheartedly? "I have"

Will you continue to follow the path of Marriage, to love and honor each other for as long as you both shall live? "I am"

Are you still prepared to accept children lovingly from God and to bring them up according to the law of Christ and his Church? "I am"

(New Testament Reading Ephesians 5:2,21-33) A reading from the letter of St Paul to the Ephesians 5:2, 21-33. Follow Christ by loving as he loved you, giving himself up for us as an offering and a sweetsmelling sacrifice to God. Husbands should love their wives, just as Christ loved the Church and sacrificed himself for her to make her holy by washing her in cleansing water with a form of words, so that when he took the Church to himself she would be glorious, with no speck or wrinkle or anything like that, but holy and faultless. In the same way, husbands must love their wives as they love their own bodies; for a man to love his wife is for him to love himself. A man never hates his own body, but he feeds it and looks after it; and that is the way Christ treats the Church because we are part of his Body. This is why a man leaves his father and mother and becomes attached to his wife, and the two become one flesh. This mystery has great significance, but I am applying it to Christ and the Church. To sum up: you also, each one of you, must love his wife as he loves himself; and let every wife respect her husband. The Word of the Lord.

(Vows) Since it is your intention to reaffirm the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his servants.

Juan repeat after me. I, Juan, reaffirm to you, Crystal, as my lawful wife, to continue to have and to hold you, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part.

Crystal repeat after me. I, Crystal, reaffirm to you, Juan, as my lawful Husband, to continue to have and to hold you, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health, until death do us part. May I have the rings.

Please bow your heads for the blessing of the rings. May the Lord bless these rings, which you will give to each other as the sign of your love and fidelity. Amen

(Exchanging of Rings) Juan, please place the ring on Crystal’s hand and say the words, “With this ring I renew my pledge of love and commitment”

Crystal, please place the ring on Juan’s hand and say the words, “With this ring I renew my pledge of love and commitment”

(Unity Cord Ceremony)

Today, Juan and Crystal have chosen to braid three strands together into a single cord. Juan and Crystal, you may now begin braiding the cords.

Each Strand has a significant meaning.

The Gold strand represents God and His Majesty

The Purple strand represents the groom and his life

The White strand represents the bride and her life

In braiding these three strands together, Juan and Crystal have demonstrated that their marriage is more than a joining of two lives together. It is a unity with God as well. They have chosen to allow God to be at the center of their marriage, woven into every aspect of it. As Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 reads, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work. If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A Cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

(Pronouncement) Juan and Crystal, today you have renewed the vows you made to each other on your wedding day. You have symbolized this renewal by the joining of hands, the taking of vows, and the exchanging of rings. It is with great pleasure that I conclude the ceremony of renewing your vows of marriage. Please celebrate this renewal of vows with a sign of affection. You may now kiss!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my honor to pronounce the reaffirmation of vows of Mr and Mrs Juan Madrigal! Ladies and gentlemen, Juan and Crystal will like you to join them by the lake for a picture!
