ABOUT THIS WEDDING

"This was special -- because of the people I've married, I've known Paul the longest, I think. But, we also had it on an island. When we were looking for a place for the actual ceremony itself, we found a sole weeping willow, and behind it, some shrubbery -- and between those, a small stream. The pictures made it look like we were the only people in an eden of its own. I loved every moment of this. Louise became a friend I cherished as much as Paul -- and we often visited prior to their moving across the state. Louise passed away in April, 2022 following a year-long battle with metastatic breast cancer. I remember the last time I saw her, just prior to passing. I saw someone who knew her time was coming to an end, but someone who was determined to fight for every day she had, not giving up for anything. Paul, Louise and I shared laughs, shared tears, and shared memories of times passed. Louise departed from this world a few days later at home in her sleep, peacefully and with her husband by her side. Her noble courage, strength and valiant fighting spirit gives me inspiration to this day, and her memory will continue to push me to do more, for the rest of my life. Thank you Paul, and thank you, Louise -- for the gift of your friendship and for allowing me to unite you together. I'll cherish your friendships forever. "
