Austin De Moss And Brianna Johnson’s Wedding Wedding Ceremony Script

DeMoss/Johnson Wedding

---THE GIVING OF THE BRIDE---

JOSH:

- TO BRI'S DAD & MOM -

"Who gives this woman to be married to this man?"

BRI'S DAD: “I do.” or “Her mother and I.”

JOSH: “You may be seated.”

---OPENING---

***You guys will be facing me, or each other, holding hands if you wish***

“I would like to welcome you all here today. Austin and Brianna truly appreciate you coming to share in their special day. The love and support their friends and family have shown speaks volumes. Having all of you here is part of what makes this day so special for them.

Today, we get to see my best friend Austin and his beautiful wife, Brianna, FINALLY get married. I knew this day would come but I never thought I’d be the one with this tremendous honor. I’m so grateful that you both asked me to officiate your wedding, and I’m so happy I get to be a small part of it… even if it’s only because I’m saving you $500. HA HA HA.

Today marks the day that Brianna and Austin finally tie the knot and share a lifetime of happiness together. So before we all pit out our undershirts, let's get this show on the road.

We have come here to share in this formal commitment Brianna and Austin make to one another, to offer our love and support to this union, and to allow Brianna and Austin to start their married life together surrounded by the people dearest and most important to them. They also remember other loved ones who cannot be here to share this moment with them today. Those people too, they hold forever in their hearts.

Marriage is perhaps the greatest and most challenging adventure of human relationships. No ceremony can create your marriage, only you can do that. Through love and patience, through dedication and perseverance, through talking and listening, helping and supporting and believing in each other; through tenderness and laughter; through learning to forgive, learning to appreciate your differences, and by learning to make the important things matter, and to let go of the rest.

---READINGS---

VICTOR:

Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce

“If I could save time in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like to do, is to save every day ‘till eternity passes away, just to spend them with you. If I could make days last forever; if words could make wishes come true; I'd save every day like a treasure and then, again, I would spend them with you. If I had a box just for wishes, and dreams that had never come true; the box would be empty, except for the memory of how they were answered by you. But there never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them. I've looked around enough to know that you're the one I want to go through time with.”

---DECLARATION OF INTENT---

Austin and Brianna, please join hands, look at one another now and remember this moment in time. A time when your wedding officiant looked stunning in his blue suit, and thinking about what drink you’re both going to have first… or maybe you’ve already had your first, second, or third. This is a no judgement zone, so we’re all good. But seriously, look at each other and relish this moment.

JOSH:

- To AUSTIN -

“Do you take this woman, Brianna, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for richer or poorer keeping yourself unto her for as long as you both shall live?”

If so, answer “I do”

AUSTIN:

- To BRIANNA -

“I do”

JOSH:

- To BRIANNA -

“Do you take this beautiful creature, that I refer to as Austin, and all his glorious curls that I know are still in there somewhere, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, dyed black hair or not, for richer or poorer keeping yourself unto him for as long as you both shall live?”

If so, answer “I do”

BRIANNA

- To AUSTIN -

“I do”

---VOWS---

JOSH: At this time, Austin and Brianna would like to share the vows they wrote for one another.

Austin: Vows

Brianna: Insert vows here

---RING EXCHANGE & VOWS---

JOSH: At this time, Matt, would you please present the rings.

Your wedding ring is a symbol of your promise to one another. The ring, an unbroken, never ending circle, is a symbol of committed, unending love.

Austin, as you place this ring on Brianna‘s finger, repeat these words after me: “This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today.”

Brianna, as you place this ring on Austin‘s finger, repeat these words after me: “This ring symbolizes my love for you/ and the commitments we made today.”

---PRONOUNCEMENT---

“Without further ado, by the authority vested in me by the state of Illinois and the internet, I now pronounce you both husband and wife. You may now share your first kiss as husband and wife. Congratulations. Friends and family, I now present to you the newly married couple. Let’s hear it for ‘em!”
