""When I arrived at Grapes and Hops to preform the ceremony the restaurant was closed for the Wedding, the guests were all there, they were all having wine and beautifully crafted platters of cheeses and exotic fruits. There was a desert table with donuts on the wall-I must admit I had never seen that before. The wedding cake was on a handmade wood slice with a heart carved in it. Everything looked first class. Well----may I say it was the hottest day on record in the City of Ventura. 103 degrees. If you know anything about Ventura you know that is really unusual...it was a record breaker! Since we enjoy spectacular weather here in Ventura the Restaurants are not equipped with Air Conditioning in most cases. Grapes and Hops did have A.C. but it could not keep up. There were about 150 guests inside the small and quaint place. We think it was about 100 degrees inside. The wedding was a hit in spite of the heat. They are a sweet couple, between them the share 4 sons and 2 Golden Doodles. Billy is a T.V. personality for HGTV and many other channels. His shows include Backyard brigade, Extra Yardage, Rods and Wheels to name a few. Look him up. His stage name is Billy Derian. His real name is Billy Blair! A great time was had by all! ""
