INVOCATION (officiant):

Welcome everyone. We are gathered here today to celebrate the most intimate of bonds between two people, marriage. Each of you were invited here not just as guests to a wedding, but as close and important witnesses to the love that Edras and Joanna share.

Today is a celebration. A celebration of the love and commitment of two people who are in it for forever. This is the beginning of the next chapter in their lives together and they have spent quite a few years getting to know each other, and today we are here to witness what their relationship has become. Today, they will affirm this bond formally and publicly.

Edras & Joanna will mark their transition as a couple not only by celebrating the love between themselves, but by also celebrating the love between us all – and without that love, today would be far less joyous. So, on their behalf we thank you all for being here this afternoon.

READING (officiant):

'In marriage, we say not only I love you today, but also I promise to love you tomorrow, the next day and always. We promise to exercise our love, to stretch it large enough to embrace the unforeseen realities of our future. We promise to learn to love beyond the level of our instincts and inclinations, to love in foul weather as well as good. We change because of these promises, we shape ourselves according to them; we live in their midst and live differently because of them.

Edras & Joanna, please join hands, look at one another now and remember this moment in time. Our couple has decided to exchange their own vows

Final Declaration of Intent - Officiant

Will you, Edras keep Joanna as your wife and favorite person - to laugh with her, go on adventures with her, support her through life's tough moments, be proud of her, grow old with her, and find new reasons to love her every day for as long as you both shall live?

Will you, Joanna keep Edras as your husband and favorite person - to laugh with him, go on adventures with him, support him through life's tough moments, be proud of him, grow old with him, and find new reasons to love him every day for as long as you both shall live?

Officiant to Couple: Will you, Edras & Joanna, be each other's partners from this day forward? Will you bring out the best in one another, share your happiest moments together, and love each other absolutely - for the rest of this lifetime and for whatever may come next? (They both respond) WE WILL….

RING EXCHANGE (Officiant):

Wedding rings are made precious by wearing them. Your rings say that even in your uniqueness you have chosen to be bound together. Let these rings also be a sign that love has substance as well as soul, a present as well as a past, and that, despite its occasional sorrows, love is a circle of happiness, wonder, and delight. May these rings remind you always of the vows you have taken here today.

Edras to Joanna (repeat after officiant):

'I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you.'

Joanna to Edras (repeat after officiant):

'I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness. As I place it on your finger, I commit my heart and soul to you.'

PRONOUNCEMENT

Edras & Joanna, prior to this moment you each walked a separate path. Now, you embark together on a shared path. It is the strength of your love that shall nourish you all together as a family, and standing before these witnesses you both declared your intent to commit your lives to each other in marriage.

Your road to this moment has not always been smooth, but you continued to fight for one another. I hope you will never forget the fight and perseverance it has taken to get to this moment. And I hope you will never forget the love and joy you feel today, because these are the values that will keep your marriage, family and bond to one another strong.

And so, by the power vested in me by the State of New Jersey, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
