"A Sweet Courthouse Lawn Wedding with Personal Vows Experience Whitney and Michael chose a simple, intimate wedding on the Garland County Courthouse lawn in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by their two daughters. They wrote their own vows, so I created a short ceremony that gave their words room to be the heart of the moment. After they declared their intention to marry, they read the promises they had written for one another, exchanged rings, and were pronounced husband and wife beneath the shade trees on the courthouse lawn. The evening before the ceremony, Whitney asked whether I could help her find flowers. I picked up fresh pink, purple, and white blooms and created a hand-tied bouquet for her, two tiny flower bundles for the girls, and a simple flower for Michael’s shirt. Their daughters stood close during the ceremony, each holding her flowers and watching as their parents made their commitment official. It was relaxed, joyful, personal, and exactly suited to their family. Whitney and Michael’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that a meaningful ceremony does not have to be elaborate. A few heartfelt words, the people you love most, and a shaded corner of the courthouse lawn can hold an entire love story."
