Officiated by Tara Killough Rhodes at White Sands National Park in Alamogordo, New Mexico on June 27th, 2026. Witnessed by Ramona Francisco and Sean Rhodes.
"Officiating Gavin and Samantha’s wedding was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. As Gavin’s mother, it was already an emotional and special day, but being entrusted with the honor of officiating their ceremony made it even more unforgettable. The wedding was small and intimate, with only their closest loved ones present: Gavin’s sister, grandmother, mom and dad, my fiancé, Samantha’s mom, and Samantha’s best friend. The intimate setting made every moment feel personal and genuine. I felt a mixture of excitement, joy, and a few nervous butterflies before the ceremony began. Standing before my son and his bride, helping them begin this new chapter together, was both humbling and incredibly special. It felt like a privilege to witness their love story from the beginning and then play such an important role in one of the most significant moments of their lives. One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was the setting itself. The wedding took place at White Sands in New Mexico, and the sunset created the most breathtaking backdrop imaginable. The beauty of the white dunes and the colors of the evening sky made the entire experience feel almost surreal. The biggest surprise—and perhaps the most memorable part of the evening—came after the ceremony. Still dressed in our wedding attire, we all grabbed sand sleds and headed down the dunes together. Watching the newlyweds, family, and friends laughing and sliding through the sand was pure joy. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. The entire evening felt magical. Surrounded by love, family, laughter, and the beauty of White Sands, it became a memory I will cherish forever. "

INVOCATION
Officiant:
Dearly beloved family,
Today, we celebrate a love story that reminds us that God often works in unexpected ways.
Years ago, Gavin Rhodes and Samantha Francisco first met as teenagers while playing video games online. What began as friendship, laughter, and countless conversations across screens slowly became a bond that neither time nor distance could break. Though they knew one another through high school, it wasn’t until the winter of 2024 that God revealed that their friendship was meant to become something more.
As Scripture tells us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17). Through every conversation, every shared dream, and every challenge they faced together, God was quietly writing their story.
Today, Gavin and Samantha stand before Him with their family to make a sacred covenant. Marriage is more than a promise between two people—it is a commitment before God to love faithfully, serve selflessly, forgive generously, and walk together through every season of life.
As Gavin prepares for his next adventure in Germany and Samantha joins him on this journey, they do so knowing that wherever life leads, God goes before them. May they build a home founded on faith, strengthened by friendship, and filled with the love described in 1 Corinthians 13—a love that is patient and kind, that bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
May their marriage be a testimony to God’s goodness and a reflection of His enduring love.
Let us celebrate not only the love that brought them here today, but also the friendship that started it all and the future they will build together.

From a friendship formed through headsets and game controllers, to a love strong enough to cross state lines, military assignments, and now oceans, Gavin and Samantha have shown that the best relationships are built first on friendship.
