Welcome:

Minister: Thank you to the friends and family that are here today to celebrate the union of Paul and Victoria.

This occasion not only marks the beginning of their marriage commitment together, but it is a commemoration of the love nurtured and shared between these two. Together, they embark today on a new life together, built on the foundations of trust, compassion, and mutual respect.

Consecration:

Minister: As we celebrate this bond of unity today under the eyes of God, it is important that we keep in mind that, while this is certainly an occasion of tremendous joy, the promises we witness here today are serious and life-altering commitments. It is with simultaneous feelings of elation and expressions of respect that we proceed.

Exchange of Vows:

Minister: At this time, before proceeding with the bonding ceremony, I would invite the couple to share their vows.

Paul, would you please deliver yours first?

Minister:

And now Victoria, would you deliver your vows?

Declaration of Intent:

Minister: Paul and Victoria please join hands. Paul, do you take Victoria as your cherished Wife, in front of these witnesses, and promise to stay by her side through sickness and health, joy and sorrow, so long as you both shall live?

Paul: I do.

Minister: Victoria, will you take Paul as your cherished Husband, in front of these witnesses, and promise to stay by his side through sickness and health, joy and sorrow, so long as you both shall live?

Victoria: I do.

Hand-Fasting Paul and Victoria, while the words you have spoken have sealed your legal union, it is the fasting of your hands that seals your spiritual commitment to one another. Please join your hands together, interlacing them. At this time Paul and Victoria should join their hands, traditionally joining right-hand to right hand and left-hand to left-hand in an interlocking fashion. Feel free to help the couple adjust their hand positioning here if they struggle. As your hands meet your partner's, look into their eyes. Recall the joys and sorrows you have celebrated and endured together. Take note of the support you are feeling and know that this support will exist for you always. In the tradition of our forefathers, we will now fasten your hands together. At this time the Officiant should wrap the hand-fasting ribbon around the couple's interlocked hands a few times. As we bind your bodies, so too do we bind your spirits. Your lives, like your hands, are now bound. While the ribbon binding your hands will eventually be removed, know that the union binding your hearts is a permanent knot, a gift that will bless you for the rest of your days.

Exchange of Rings:

Minister: May I have the rings please. The wedding rings perfectly symbolize the never-ending love you two have for each other. By exchanging these rings, you solidify a lifelong commitment to one another. The rings serve as a welcome and constant reminder of the bond you've formed with your partner.

Please repeat after me: I, Paul, give you, Victoria this ring as a symbol of my enduring love. Just as the circle of the ring completes itself, so you complete me.

Minister: Paul and Victoria, by the power vested in me by the state of Hawaii, I am pleased to pronounce you Husband and Wife, sealed together today both in law and in love before God.

Minister: Paul, you may kiss the bride.
