We would like to take a moment to acknowledge Paola's mother, who is unable to be here in person because of the current immigration climate in our country. Although distance and circumstances keep her from attending physically, she is still able to be part of this special day virtually.

Marriage is not built in one single moment.

It is built through the everyday moments — the hard conversations, the laughter, the ADHD quirks, the patience and growth alongside one another, and the commitment to continue showing up for each other every day.

Marriage is choosing each other even when it isn't easy. It's choosing each other through the stressful, imperfect, and unfair moments that life can bring. It's about fully seeing and loving your person and meeting them where they are.

Sharon and Paola's story began where many great modern love stories begin: on a dating app.

History has it, Sharon very strategically included a photo of herself and her furbaby, Mason. Some may call that adorable and romantic; others may see it as a very effective approach. Either way, it worked.

For those who may not know, Mario Kart is a racing game where players speed toward the finish line while dodging obstacles and surprise attacks along the way. In many ways, these lyrics capture the challenges life can bring, while also reminding me of the love I've watched Sharon and Paola build, nurture, and strengthen together.
